We used to come here before the rebuild and always loved it! Came for the first time this evening since the renovations and we... were blown away. The ambience, service and food were all five stars. The restaurant is beautiful and has such an elegant andcozy vibe. We tried the tasting menu and each dish was so delicious and perfectly executed. They were all delivered by the chefwith an explanation of each which we really enjoyed. Ray, the sommelier was beyond wonderful and really made our night extraspecial. Very knowledgeable and just so sweet and friendly. His pairings were all a hit and complimented the dishes perfectly. We loved the high end feeling that you get here, with our favorite type of food - they've created something so special andunique. We will recommend coconut lagoon to all of our friends and family and we will be back again very soon!! Read more

The lamb chop we had as an appetizer was amazing. The rest of the food was good but not worth the price. Service was very... slow, we had to wave down the waitress for more drinks as well as to get our bill at the end (after sitting around waiting formore than 10 minutes) Read more

My daughter, wife and I had an amazing meal here for my daughter's birthday. We went with the tasting menu and it hit all the... right notes. The wine list provided a couple of options to go with the meal, but there is also a matched wine service that goeswith the tasting menu for a modest extra cost. Next time we will go with that and let the sommelier Ray be our guide. Hecertainly knows his stuff. This is more my favourite Ottawa restaurant, replacing the sadly closed De Vinos. Read more

It took more than 40 minutes from the time our orders were placed to when we received our food. It was not a busy night as there... were empty tables around us but maybe the restaurant was understaffed. We had to ask a few times for water refills because theserver didn?t pay attention to our table. It was $19 for 3 scallops from the appetizer menu.. The mariposa duck biryani wasokay but we probably won?t be coming back since the dining experience was underwhelming. Read more

We were there on a very busy Saturday evening, and we are glad we got there early, as the place filled up very quickly! And with... good reason! It seems like many have discovered this gem of a restaurant on St. Laurent. The restaurant had a lovely and calmingambience, and even with the place packed, it didn't feel crowded. The staff were lovely, detailing every dish they served. Thesommelier Ray, was the picture of Zen calm. He was knowledgeable and just a delight to talk to. Then there was the food. Oh my!Sublime and exquisite are the two words that come readily to mind. This is South Indian food elevated to a gourmet level. And itworks! From the soup to dessert, everything was just the perfect balance of spice, texture, and taste. It was a party in ourmouths with every bite! Outstanding! Our evening was quite unforgettable, and we have the chef and staff of Coconut Lagoon tothank for that. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I most certainly would. Read more

I?ve been coming to Coconut Lagoon for what seems like decades. I completely believe Joe when he says he has customers coming... from Montreal and Toronto to eat here?the food has always been uniquely awesome and showcasing the cuisine of Kerala. I managedto secure a highly sought after table for the Grand Reopening of the restaurant (after the awful fire as shared in the media). Iwas not disappointed by this stunning reincarnation of one of my all time favourite restaurants in the world! The menu, drinks, and ambience is stunning. The flavours, spices, and presentation is remarkable. I feel like I?ve grown up with this restaurantand I?m so proud and happy to see it flourish into the gem it has become. Bravo! Read more

Really enjoyed it. The decor has been upgraded since the pandemic and is a bit classier now. For the food you?re paying for... quality over quantity and wow was it delicious. There was plenty of wait staff who were all very friendly and helpful. Woulddefinitely come back. Read more

Coconut Lagoon recently opened 2 weeks ago and had the opportunity to book a group business dinner here. They were so... accommodating since we requested a change to our group size from 7 to 9 just 30 mins before the reservation, which they did eventhough it was packed. The food quality was excellent and portions were quite large. Staff are still learning on the job soservice was a bit uneven, but they did there best and were so kind and gracious. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend to anyone inthe area for a great night out. Read more
