In search for weekend brunch this place came up we thought of trying it out. Parking in streets is not existent. Had really look... at side streets a bit far to get one. All the nearby spots are reserved for the apartment dwellers in the building. Ordered aHuevo Ranchero ($16) - which came with scrambled eggs two corn tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and a side order offries. The eggs could have used some seasoning even with salsa it needed something extra A Vegan Breakfast Bowl ($14) - amixture of tofu, spinach, mushrooms and tomato chutney - which somehow tasted to all 4 of us like onion chutney. The vegetablesdone good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun stripswere rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice ofbread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If someperson was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that youcan do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of ushad to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in andorder on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFOREeven we were served? Vegan bowl w gluten free toast was perfectly delicious! Also had the carrot ginger tumeric smoothie which was the perfect... complementary drink! Highly recommend going here if you have any dietary restrictions/sensitivities! Found my new favouritebreakfast spot and can?t wait to try the rest of the menu!! Will be back for sure!! Read more
We are in town visiting and stopped in for breakfast, really glad we did..... The service was great, so friendly. The food was... amazing, I had the mushroom melt, my wife had the breakfast bowl, and my daughter had a tropical smoothie with a croissant, everything was amazing. Definitely will be returning and we have already told or friends and family in Ottawa they have to gocheck it out. Read more
Out of basic groceries, I failed to find a breakfast diner where I could get a breakfast special for $10-12. Menu at Good Eats... Cafe looked appealing, and I splurged on Poor Boy Eggs Benny. The large coffee truly is large. Sadly, it was cold by the time Ifinished. The fruit cup was excellent, as were the mushrooms and red peppers. I wished for more tarragon in the hollandaisesauce, but that's me. Under double vax protocols service was not fast, but I will be confident that the food is 5 stars on mynext visit. We had such a lovely experience at Good Eats Cafe. We were there for takeout, but the staff was still extremely friendly and... attentive. The food and smoothies were delicious, reasonably priced, and portioned well. I can't wait to eat here again! Read more
