The Lift offers a gorgeous, modern ambiance flooded with natural light and all the amenities for an enjoyable meal, drinks meet... or work "pit stop" when a deadline is due. The menu selections are delectable, and the warm welcome by staff warms the heart andalways causes a smile. Our waiter was very nice, if a bit shy. The food was pretty forgettable though. I ordered the short rib... quite a large amount... of fat was left untrimmed. The meat itself was decent, as were the sides. Pretty average quality I would say though. Thethoughts of my fellow diners were the same as mine: the food was alright, but not anywhere near great, or even very good. Theprices are quite reasonable though. Read more
An excellent restaurant with a fantastic Chef. I had dinner there a few times and the dishes were absolutely delicious... every... time! As of special note is a dish called "Aglio olio e peperoncino"; ask to have some shrimp added (even though it's not anoption in the menu) and you'll have the pleasure to eat one of the best pasta dishes you've ever had. Great little hotel restaurant. Good food. Bar area. Sometimes they have musicians playing soft music. As a local, I like to go... here from time to time for a quick bite. I usually eat alone and don't feel strange doing so. Lift is popular with businesstravellers. I find it's a better place to go by yourself than Baton Rouge, just because it's not as busy/crowded. The servers seemed quite busy, so I can give some leeway there. Our server was a bit incessant and constantly coming back to our... table when we just wanted to have a quiet meal. I think I spent more time talking to him than the person I was eating with. Thesausages were really bad, but at least our served comped them. The croissant tasted as though it had been frozen andreheated. Overall, this is not a restaurant I will be returning to. Read more
