Super fresh seafood!!! We didn't get the happy hour but had a chance to try their three different types of oysters, clam... chowder, ceviche, fish taco, and fish and chips! I thought the menu was a bit pricey until I saw the serving size. Supergenerous portion and everything we ordered was delicious. First things first....the service here is fantastic!!!! Now let's get to the good stuff.....this has to be in my top 2-3... favorite restaurants in Ottawa!! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! The lobster poutine was our star of the show but thelobster roll, fish and chips and clam chowder were all a very close second. If you want to know what fresh tastes like...comehere. I really enjoy the experience today provided by pelican seafood grill! Excellent food, fabulous atmosphere and best service.... Tried one of the signature and I got shocked by that crispy skin with that special lemon source. It was delicious when you hadthat combined within the juicy white meat. Even though the crab cake is kind of expensive if you choose to dine in instead ofpick up but worth to try it. Will be my first time and won’t be my last time! Just added some photos for second time. This is one of my go-to places for seafood! No fuss, great quality, great value, and never disappointed. Their fish and chips... are amazing and I love that the fries are given as much attention as the fish. Everything is super fresh, the service islovely, and nice casual vibe. Things you have to try! Getting reservation was quick and easy, got a table immediately when we arrived. Went here specifically for oysters and luckily... we reached at Happy hr. Fantastic fresh oysters, first time for my wife and she loved it. Also ordered Lobster shrimp roll andfish tacos which were amazing too, presentation and service was great. You absolutely need a reservation as the restaurant will fill up even on a weeknight, and I can see why. Every single dish... served was delicious, for a place that's 300km from the ocean, the seafood tasted very fresh. My only nitpick is that theoysters were a bit briny without other flavours, but it's at the best price available inland. Still, I recommend this placewholeheartedly. Read more
Had an amazing anniversary dinner here at Pelican! Our first time here and we were impressed all the way! Food was hot, service... was A+ and atmosphere was calm & quiet. Our dishes were wonderful, perfect portions and fresh seafood! ???? The only miss wouldbe at the table we were seated at. We were next to the window and there was a cold draft. I tried to pull over the curtain toblocked it but they were foe curtains. ???? Either way, we'll be back!!! Read more
I really had a craving for sea food so I googled best seafood restaurant in Ottawa and the Pelican came up so I made a Rez and... headed over. I am from out of town and never been here before. The ambiance is cool it’s a seafood market with a restaurantto the right. I love oysters but my golden rule has always been unless I am within 200 km from the ocean raw shellfish I willnot eat. Well I seen the shucking station I seen how fresh they looked and throwing caution to the wind I started with four PEIlucky Limes Recommended by my server. After throwing on the typical horseradish, splash of hot sauce, and squirt of lemon anddowned the first one I was rewarded with that fresh cold briny flavour fresh from the sea, Awesome! For my main I had thescallops and Pork Belly nicely seared and sweet scallops, pork belly was crispy were it needed to be and succulent every wereelse. I had a couple glasses of red wine I don’t remember which but it was very nice. Service was outstanding. I willdefiantly be back on next trip this way. Read more
