Place was completely empty mid afternoon. Bar staff on their phone. We had to speak up to get their attention. We ordered basic... nachos and Mediterranean Flatbread. SIMPLE ORDER!!! IT TOOK about 30 to 40 minutes to get our food. Nachos had hardly anythingon them... and a very small portion. My Flatbread super dry, had the saltiest goat cheese, smallest cucumber, no ingredientsaround the edges... and the outside edges were rock hard!!! I was here on Saturday. Cool place, with bocci ball, and shuffle board, and bean bag toss. The food is typical sports bar fair.... It's okay. I didn't expect to be blown away. If you're in a group, be aware that the menu is limited. Like severely limited.The menu we were given had about 15 items on it, out of the 45 plus on the main menu. Things like the chicken sandwich, and fishburger, not to mention the vegetarian options, and pizza are apparently a no go in a group. That's cool, I get that it can behard with big groups. Typically I'd give a place like this 3 or 4 stars. So, why the one star review? The ridiculous gratuity Iwas charged. And it's the sole reason I can't suggest this place. They have an 18% gratuity on a party. Again fine. The problemis I was charged weird gratuity amounts within the bill (says 18% but the math doesn't work), then I was charged 18% on my billtotal on top of the included gratuity. And then I was asked again for gratuity when paying (I added an extra five dollars,unaware the additional 18% gratuity I was about to be charged). This sketchy gratuity policy led to me paying an additional 45%on my bill. I'm sorry, but your food, ambiance, and facilities are nowhere worth 45% on the total of my bill. We celebrated my dad’s 90th birthday at Playback with approximately 60 family members and friends. All I can say is WOW! We... seriously could not have chosen a better venue. The ambiance is warm, not too big but spacious with high ceilings that make youfeel like your outdoors. Kids and everyone entertained with all kinds of games and the older folk had plenty of room to talk andhave lots of laughs!! We even booked an hour next door at the Archery place for the more daring ones. The food was fresh andhot and everyone raved on how good everything was. Tables were promptly cleared throughout the 5+ hour event, servers and staffwere kind and courteous. In addition, SUPER reasonables prices to make this place one of its kind here in Ottawa - not tomention an abundance of free parking! I would absolutely rate this restaurant 5 stars if it weren't for the blue haired bartender who absolutely destroyed my outlook... on this restaurant. She seemed to have been flirting with a customer while neglecting every other person patiently waiting to beserved. Aside from that, she had a terrible attitude to seemingly everyone there including other staff. I did however have agreat experience interacting with another younger server who was kind, patient and improved how I feltsignificantly. Management should really take this into consideration. I don't see myself returning in the near future as I knowI am not the first to have had poor experience with this bartender. Read more
We did an escape room with our friends and then had dinner and played lawn games at Playback. The space is large and the games... are so much fun! It would be an amazing space for an office party or large gathering as well. Read more
Came into the restaurant for lunch with my Dad. The server told us that there could be a very long wait for the food because... they are short-staffed. Dad and I decided to leave. We were quite hungry and ate elsewhere instead. The staff member wasfriendly and honest though, we appreciated that. The whole environment there looked and felt very fun! They have lots ofawesome games and activities you can try out (af a cost). Read more
