This place is so CHEAP!!!! If you order their family platter it?s now $50 before tax . It used to be $45 few months ago. When... you order family platter they put the garlic and hummus containers inside the tray so that it takes up more space and they don?thave to give you as much rice and meat and vegetables. It's mediocre for the amount of money they charge for everything. For the meat pie station, each veggie added is +$0.75. The... shawarma area is not much better. Regular pita costs way way less than saj bread (the soft pliable pita). I paid $30 for twosandwiches. At least with Shawarma Palace you are getting the quality you are paying for. Anyways, this place seems to survivebecause of its late night clientele who don't have any choice other than mid-tier nourishment. The prices may seem cheaper butreally they are not. I'm not one to write bad reviews but my experience here was very upsetting. I came in at about 11:00 am, there was a man behind... the counter lighting a spit, watching the soccer game. He didn't even look at me, didn't say hello and eventually went to theback. Another man came out, didn't look at me or acknowledge me, not a simple "hey someone will be right with you" and went tothe back. The woman who runs the cash, made eye contact but also did not acknowledge me. Eventually I had to ask her if theshawarma station was even open. She looked very annoyed and went to the back to call someone. After a few minutes she came backout and started making my shawarma. Her attitude was cold and I could feel she was annoyed with me for having said something.Halfway through, she stopped, took off her gloves and went to help someone at the cash. I found that shocking. I kept waitinguntil a man came out and finished my order. He didn't look at me, didn't say hello, or sorry for the wait... She told him inLebanese what I wanted and he handed it to her. She gave me a fake smile handing me my food. I am so disappointed in thecustomer service. To be honest, it's probably been one of the worse experiences I've ever had. I've worked many years in theservice industry and I cannot imagine ignoring someone as they did. I used to recommend this place to everyone but will not bedoing so anymore. They used to be so good! Last couple of times it?s been disappointing. They will never fill the sandwich with chicken or... condiments unless you repeat it once or twice. I always get sandwiches full of veggies and no meat. The staff is dismissive andact like they are doing me a favor. I understand the economy is tough but when customers come so often to spend their hardearned dollar at least give them what they pay for. Read more
I have come to this shawarma station over 50 times while I lived in the south. They have a great shawarma and Lebanese pies... (cheese pies , zaatar, meat pie) I won?t be going here again because they don?t know how to value customers. Yesterday Iordered a family shawarma platter for pick up. I usually take a coupon with me for 5$ off. Just as an fyi there is no barcode oranything on this coupon , only an expiry date. When I went to pick up my platter, I realized that I forgot my coupon at home. Ihave gone before and the cashier was able to just give me the 5$ off. This time the cashier was insistent she couldn?t do it. Ieven told her the older lady that works there at the cash has done me a favour in the past gave me the 5$ off when I didn?tbring the coupon once. She refused to even ask the manager. ALL GOOD no issues. I paid , and left. Got home and noticed therewas barely any chicken to feed a ?family? which this platter as meant to do. I called in to complain and the response they gaveme was ?it?s up to the person preparing the food? aka not her problem. She said next time we will make it right ?. But I had myfamily there waiting to eat. There won?t be next time to be honest. I?ll just go to shawarma palace across the street from nowon. Read more
Shawarma Station's food tastes good. My favorite meal is the chicken shawarma. I especially liked eating in the booth seats... from the old Rockin Johnny's diner decor restaurant.
