My wife and I were on a date night last Thursday Nov 3, 2022 and decided to walk in to this place without reservations. Most... tables were reserved but they had no problem finding us a spot as it was still early (17:50) and empty. I ordered lamb chops andmy wife ordered lamb buryani and we waited. At 18:30 the place was almost full, many tables were eating and we still hadnothing. My wife asked why it was taking so long and we were given an answer neither of us understood. Five minutes later awaiter came by and told us there was no lamb left for the buryani and would we want lamb and curry instead. We agreed andcontinued to watch others get their food even though they arrived much later than us. Another 5 minutes passed and the waiterreturned again and said there is no lamb left for curry either. I asked for another order of lamb chops and they said ok. By18:45 we still had not received any food at all and so we left money on the table to cover some juice we were able to get (THEYHAD NO MANGO LASSI!!!) and walked out without them trying in anyway to stop us or appoligize. I'm surprised to see negative reviews about the staff - we received absolutely amazing service! Samir was incredibly kind and... welcoming and had us laughing throughout our meal. There were a fair amount of people coming in to pick up take-out and theywere greeted warmly and with a smile. We each had a soup and a main meal, and left feeling VERY full and very satisfied. Service was great as we were the only two in the restaurant. This place used to be very good! Great flavored dishes... but...really gone downhill. Ordered a lamb curry and the butter chicken. A side order of rice which was made with peas and 1piece of Naan. Everything tasted horrible. Don't second guess going or ordering. The butter chicken tasted like heavy creammixed with water...no flavor. The lamb curry dish...not even sure how to explain it...just as tasteless as the butterchicken. The Naan....tasted like raw dough. Was not cooked long enough. The rice...I mean probably the only thing that wasdecent...not sure I preferred the ricr made with green peas as it doesn?t go so well with the dishes we ordered. This is the best Indian restaurant in Ottawa. Lots of great selection of food. Real Indian food test. My kids and family... choices number one restaurant. Read more
I was very happy with the selection of vegetarian options here. The food was delicious and the portions were fair for the cost.... The naan does have a strong yeasty taste I was not expecting, but was very fresh. The staff were friendly and the added papadumswere a nice treat! Read more
Worst food I have ever had. There is no garlic in the nan. And the curries taste weird ..did not recommend this restaurant . Its... a sacm under the name of indian food . Indian food doesn't taste like this what they are selling. Waste a lot of money on food. Never ever go there in my life . Read more
Unexpected stop for lunch on an extremely cold day. Decided to try the lunch buffet. Smaller selection but surprisingly good and... reasonably priced. Has a family owned feel to the place and you can see them preparing food in the tandor ovens behind the glasspartition. Vegetable dishes were very good. Read more
