I don’t have anything to say but amazing. I went for a birthday dinner for my gf and we splurged, we got the wagyu, aburi... sushi platter, the pad Thai, and a few rolls. The Wagyu was phenomenal, the pad Thai was great. The sushi flavour wise wasamazing however the rolls were a bit loose. The ambiance was great and the staff were friendly. Read more

Had a really great meal! It was a chilly fall day and their warm Sake hit the spot, the spicy squid goes so well with it! Tomo... rolls were yummy too! Staff were attentive and helpful. Definitely worth a visit. Read more

Below average food. Had chicken fried rice, which was ok but not worth the price. One of the sushi rolls was not fresh but the... server took it away and didn't charge us. Two stars for the food. But compliments to the service and ambience. Read more

Our main sushi place we go to while in Ottawa. Service is always good and sushi even better. You get more fish than rice in your... rolls for a better price. And it tastes better. We also always got seats without reservations but don’t hold me to that firyourself. Recommend. Read more

I took my friends from Toronto to Tomo hoping to impress them with some good quality food and nice ambience in byward market. I... have to say, we were very disappointed. I remembered food here being tasty and refreshing last time I visited but this time issimply average. What upsetted us more was the bartender didn't wear mask the whole time, his mask was hanging under his chinthrough the night. We have been visiting restaurants time to time and we did notice sometime staffs would take their masksbehind the bar to sip some water or have a break, given the 2m distance and staffs immediately put the mask back on we werenever too concerned. But at Tomo, the bartender was wearing mask on the chin THE WHOLE TIME. His nose and mouth were nevercovered. We ordered a sake to share but after we saw him preparing other customers cocktails, pouring drinks, serving foodwithout putting his mask on properly, we decided not to order anything from the bar. Moreover, he was sticking his head to thosecustomers sitting at the bar when he couldn't hear them clearly, the distance between him and the customers would not be morethan 2m and no one was wearing masks after the customers sat down at the bar. I would not go back to Tomo ever, food taste andquality aside, as a restaurant, health and safety should be the priority. Restaurant should create a safe environment forcustomers to dine in. If not, don't bother to accept dine in customers and stick to takeout. Even if everyone was fullyvaccinated at the scene, a food handler should know better than wearing mask like a decoration with no sense of health andsafety. Read more

BEST sushi in Ottawa so far! We’ve tried so many places and most of them are so hit and miss with a lot of rolls tasting... similar but not at Tomo! Even though some showed similar ingredients, they tasted so different and bloody delicious! Don’t getme wrong, this isn’t authentic Japanese sushi, but more a fusion blend of amazing flavours! Between three of us, we had 9rolls, couldn’t get enough! Great drinks too and good service! Great vibe!!!! Love this place and will definitely go back andbe ordering in from! Forgot to mention that the pork belly bao was terrible - wouldn’t recommend, stick to the sushi! Read more

Very delicious meals. The waiting time was quick, in less than 15 minutes all dishes were served. I loved the grilled squid,... tomo chicken and the fried rice. Read more
