I like the rice noodle! The broth is not too thick, and the nice noodle is tender enough to soak the flavours. The best part of... it is the pickle! Read more

The service here is amazing, quick and friendly! The restaurant is nice and clean, and I love the old school music they played.... I would recommend the hot plate rice dishes, the egg wrapped rice dish had a VERY generous serving of eel but the rice lackedflavour and depended a lot on a super sweet and salty sauce. The beef tongue with dip was really flavourful as an app though!Overall I would come back for the comforting vibes and food! Read more

The food was very authentic, had a lot of flavour, and was well prepared. The portions are very generous - almost more than you... can eat and it's great that there's the option for a free noodle refill. I liked that you can specifically pick both your spicyand numbness level for your own dish. The server was friendly and happy to answer any menu questions we had. Read more

Hey Kitchen, glad finding you in Ottawa Chinatown! This restaurant offers a happy medium between hot plates, noodles & omurice.... It?s more interesting than typical Chinese food fare without venturing too far from the cuisine. Chicken Cutlet Omurice withSpicy Curry Sauce came was topped by a heap of fried chicken cutlet strips in Asian seasoning. The soft omurice was wrapped in athin layer of fried egg. The strong curry sauce was spicy as advertised, which made for a nice complement to the light egg &rice combination. Special Teppan Pepper Pasta was on the menu with a wide variety of options. We ordered it with Smoked Chickenin a Cream Sauce similar to carbonara. Chicken pieces with skin were tender & flavourful in the heavy sauce. A side of okra ingarlic & vinegar sauce was a helpful contrast for this hot plate pasta. Hey Kitchen is conveniently close to the Chinatown gatealong Somerset St. It was surprisingly empty for weekend dining. Staff knew we had come from away, but were helpful & friendlywhich made us feel quite at home. Read more

The chicken wings are really good, not just plain wings but with added spices and flavourings. The beef tongue tappan pepper... rice is decent, nicely seasoned. The salmon teppan spaghetti with tomato however has a really fishy taste because of the addedsalmon. Comparing this with smoked duck breast fettuccine with the same tomato sauce, there?s a major difference; the lattertasted much better. Read more

The food was delicious. I've had both their take out and in-person dining and they never disappoint. We went for the takoyaki,... pork cutlet omurice, and braised beef with noodles. If you like spicy noodles, you'll love this! They also have a numbingcomponent to the noodles if you're into that. I personally don't like it but I know many people who do. If you've never triedthe numbing effect with your noodles, I would suggest trying it at least once just to see if you do like it! Read more
