Really great food and great quantity and price. Super fresh, such a gem of a place. We got the French and Puerto Ricans and plan... to go back weekly to try the rest. So happy this place opened in Owego. Hope they expand to Vestal soon too! Read more

Delicious handpies, tastes fresh and yummy. We had the French and the Jamaican. The French was gone before I could get a pic.... Quickly heated and ready. Very clean space. Highly recommend. Read more

I am so glad that I finally discovered this place! I got the Greek spanokopita which was a flaky phyllo dough filled with... Spinach and feta cheese. The owner was very polite, and she made my food to order. It was so fresh and delicious! It filled meup for $7. There were various handheld street foods from around the globe. I saw that she made smoothies and she also had agrilled cheese special. I was able to eat my meal by the beautiful Susquehanna River overlooking the Owego Bridge. I cannot waitto go back and try other items. I appreciate that the meal was packaged in a cardboard to-go container, and no utensils werenecessary (making this an eco-conscious meal). Update: Today I tried the India (the sauce has a kick to it) and the StrawberryHaze smoothie. Read more

The food here is incredible. We drive back and forth from New York City to Buffalo a few times a year, this is the best lunch... stop yet. The hand pies are varied and each prepared perfectly. Servings are generous. You can sit on the patio over the rivertoo. Read more

Best authentic cornish pasty in the area. My husband's family is Cornish so he grew up eating pasties and can confirm that these... are the real deal. If you get one thing from this place, get the pasty. We also had the empanada and the samosas which weredelicious too. Generous filling and handmade pastry crusts. Ugh, so good. Such a local gem. One of my favorite places to go for lunch!! The food is always spectacular and a great bargain. I love trying the grilled cheese... of the week and I always order the India to take and eat later. All that great food is even better because the service is fastand wonderful! Read more

My daughter and I stopped in after doing some birthday shopping around town. I?d been wanting to try Hand Jive for a while, and... I am SO glad we finally did! The interior is small and neat, with seating available either out front or in the back where thereis a large deck overlooking the Susquehanna. They have a nice variety of drinks, but I was on a mission to try the hand pies. Weordered a Jamaica, an India, and an America. First, the India. BEST samosa I?ve ever had. The filling was so flavorful andbursting (not literally, the surrounding pastry perfectly held everything!) with texture. The sauce it comes with is delicious, though the hand pie shines even without it. You get two samosas, so I ended up getting to save one for later. Next, theJamaica. The flavor is outstanding. The size of each pie is generous, and like the India you get two. My only critique might bethat after the variety of texture in the India, the Jamaica is not as texturally interesting (note: the flavor is stillAMAZING). However, that might be what made my daughter, who I had ordered the America for, enjoy the Jamaica instead. Last, theAmerica. The owner recommended this one as being popular with kiddos, thus why I ordered it. As I already mentioned though, mychild went ham on one of the Jamaica pies instead, so I had the opportunity to taste the America. Like everything else we tried,it was beautifully seasoned and a joy to eat. It is the classic chicken pot pie, a pleasantly familiar comfort food in hand-heldform. This is the perfect pie for anyone leery of stepping too far outside of their comfort zone while still getting somethingdelicious, or for someone who just really loves chicken pot pie. I am already planning a repeat trip to this amazing littlerestaurant, and I hope my review helps others make the decision to visit as well! Read more
