Breakfast on a slow easy Sunday morning under the catalpa trees. Windows large and inviting us to take in the world. Watching a... barge gently flow through the water. A cardinal lands close by, sings a few lines then let's the doves take the chorus. Kitchenstaff sing along with Heart's How Do I Get You Alone. Service is kind and humorous, "sit anywhere. Well maybe not where someelse is sitting, that may be awkward." Regulars chatting, softly no one is invasive. Wait staff are attentive, kindlyremembering the locals favorites. A mockingbird stops by to gather stories. A patron leaves and the staff call, "have a greatday." The food was cooked perfectly, over medium eggs, crisp country bacon, potatoes and onions. The toast was still warm andhad the perfect amount of fat, probably margarine. Coffee was the perfect temperature and not overly bitter. I could drink itblack! I hope to come back. Lore: Catalpa has several medicinal uses. It can be made into a tea that is an antidote for snakebites and has also used for a laxative. Our chef at the table was very friendly to our family; the food was great! The Hibachi tables are smaller and closer together... than I would prefer, as a full table means a tight squeeze with little elbow room to eat your meal, and guests at neighboringtables were very loud. Its always a good meal. My husband will only eat fried sushi rolls and they have his favorite here. We have had almost... everything as far as appetizers and they are all delicious. The yum yum sauce is soo good and you can purchase bottles of it. Read more
