Not only was the food delicious and authentic, it was piping hot when it got to our table. The chips and salsa are made in house... and are incredibly good. The staff and service were just as amazing as the food. The price was very reasonable as well. Westopped there for lunch on a whim and will absolutely be back. Highly recommend! Read more
Okay people. My friend and I was traveling back from Detroit to Traverse City and stumbled onto this place. If you are in the... area of this place you have to stop. A true mom and pop feel. Maybe we went on an off night (Wednesday evening) but we were honestly really disappointed after reading such positive reviews.... Our first impression was a corner booth that honestly was filthy; if that?s in the dining area, what?s the kitchen look like? Italso seemed odd that there was nothing on the table except salt and pepper ? no sauces or seasonings. Menu was simple butcovered all the major Mexican bases. We opted for the ?choose your own? that?s around $11-12 and you pick 2-3 options (ie.burrito, chimichanga) with rice and beans. Husband went with chicken burrito and steak chimichanga, I went with cheesequesadilla and chicken chimichanga. They upcharged his steak option by $1 which isn?t a big deal but would?ve been nice to knowas it?s not mentioned on the menu. The cheese quesadilla was ? not good. It reeked of fish from what I?m guessing is old oil.The chicken in the burrito and the chimi was disappointingly plain ? no seasoning, no ANYTHING in the chimi other than lightlypeppered chicken. The steak chimi was actually really flavorful and had a nice taste. The rice had close to no flavor (literallyless than a box of Rice A Roni Mexican) and the beans were pretty standard. We opted to get two rounds of ?cheese dip? becauseit was a 40 minute wait for dinner and that was probably the highlight of the meal for me. The service was attentive and thefountain soda was good but we walked away having spent $45 and feeling frustrated. Seeing as how the steak did indeed tastereally yummy, I kinda feel like if you find your ?thing? here, you could have a really enjoyable meal but for us on the whole,we were left with a bad taste in our mouth. The food here is always great! It is very fresh and hot. The chips and salsa are excellent. The service is always spot on and... the 42oz Margarita's are always delicious. I love coming here , the food is the best. But Today we came with a coupon that was in the paper and our waitress said she... couldn?t except the coupon. She didn?t have a manager on duty. I said so if emergency happens there isn?t a supervisor or anyoneto help you, whose responsibility would it be. She said it would be her responsibility but she still couldn?t honor the couponand suggested it was a old coupon. I told her it was yesterdays paper and then she said it was a misprint. Then she takes 5.00off and I point the coupon was buy One meal half off the second. She said that?s all she could do. I suggest you check becausethey don?t honor their coupons!! Read more
