It's an okay place for a drink. The food is terrbile. We tried this place when it first opened, did not like the food. Decided... to give the place another chance recently and the food is still horrible. If you had enough to drink the food may be okay toeat. Definitely not food I'd eat happily sober or even buzzed (yes it's that bad). No flavor at all. The only reason this placehas as many good stars as it does is because there is nothing else really around and people in Granville have low standards. Gave one star for the food being somewhat ok- even though the burgers, me and my husband ordered, were over cooked. It was a... very odd service, not to mention, it seemed as though there was only one girl serving food, while a guy in a cowboy hat, watchedher every move and felt very uncomfortable and creepy?. I?m from Raleigh and met a friend here for a drink. I ended up ordering two meals to go. The aroma of the food in my car was... fantastic!! The pork chop was flavorful and my favorite of the two dishes. The other dish, a ribeye with shrimp, was excellentalso. I especially enjoyed the shrimp. The zucchini and squash side was seasoned well. The mac n cheese was inhaled in a coupleof bites. It was so good, I should have bought an extra serving?.or two. Now for the finale. You must try the sweet potatocheesecake. It?s more than a cheesecake. There were multiple layers of deliciousness in every bite. I highly recommend the mac ncheese and sweet potato cheesecake. Showing homes in Oxford and came across this restaurant. I ordered the BBQ hamburger and it was fantastic. They must have just... opened and as with other restaurants things are a bit slow, but not here. We were greeted and had service very quickly. With ashort window to eat we were in and out in about 30 minutes. Great food, service and atmosphere. Read more
First time here and we absolutely loved it! I can?t believe I haven?t found out about this nice little place in Oxford earlier.... The servers were very friendly, and the lamb chops were AMAZING. There was also live music that night and it was delightful.Would definitely come back! Read more
Let me say up front - I am very glad to see people investing in small town America, and this is such a place. There's many... things to love here. The atmosphere and decor are lovely. The staff is very nice and helpful. The menu treads a line betweenbringing new ideas to an otherwise stagnated restaurant scene in Granville and Vance counties, and making some familiar,reliable dishes if you just want some comfort food. So, thank you for that. Overall, it's pretty good - not great. On our firstvisit, my meal was pretty disappointing, but my wife enjoyed hers so much, I thought we'll give them another chance. The firstmeal - I had the wings and the steak salad, she had the Mac and cheese and the Ahi tuna appetizer. The salad was not good - thesteak was tough and devoid of flavor. I ordered it medium rare, but clearly someone had cut it up, threw it into an overcrowdedpan and steamed it beef-stroganoff style. Ugh. And it was served over limp greens and shredded yellow-and-white cheese from abag. At least try using Gorgonzola. I ordered it because the dressing sounded interesting - and it was good! Just, not withchewy beef and Colby Jack. The wings had a great flavor - I asked them to mix the BBQ and Buffalo sauces together. Yum.Perfectly cooked. However, for a buck a piece, I'd like them to be bigger. Still, the best in the two towns. The Ahi tuna wasquite good - exactly as expected and we'll be ordering that again. Can't get that outside of Durham, until now. Good job. Macand cheese - amazingly, some places manage to screw it up, but not here. Creamy, pasta not overcooked and mushy like everywhereelse, nice cheesy flavor. Order it, you won't be disappointed. This time I had the burger - I saw one coming out of the kitchenas I was chewing my salad, and made a mental note to get it next time. So, I did. Really solid, good burger. Sunday brunch has a limited menu! We ordered two appetizers to share between us. They were good, but felt like they were out... of a box.
