After eating a perfectly acceptable lunch here a few months ago, I was not prepared for the poor experience when I had dinner... there a few days ago. It was crowded and they must have been understaffed. It took forever for the food to arrive. My salmon wasOK but it was accompanied by rice turned brown by an unidentifiable and unpleasant seasoning, and stone-cold broccoli. A side offries was skimpy, soggy, and cold but when I sent it back it was replaced with an equally skimpy plate of warm and crispy ones,so that’s something. Given the failure rate at this location and the desperate need for decent places to eat in Oxford, I canonly urge the owners of the Gaslight to get their act together ASAP! Read more
I really use to love it here but the service has really went down hill no one seems to care if you get the correct food or if... it's even cooked no not the servers fault but when brought to their attention should care. Then when asked for a high chairgiven a high top one for a low table just ungrateful food has went down hill even worse then the service I don't care that yourout of things I mean not your fault but after finally getting to order I would ask that my food at least be warm hell not evenasking for it to be hot. The bread so hard you can't even eat the sandwich it's just not okay. If you wouldn't eat it yourself then don't serve the food!!!! Period! Read more
Absolutely wonderful! Erin, Sarah, and the whole staff were great! It was move in weekend and the place was pack and everyone... did great job. Like everyone else, they were short staffed, but did a great job with what they had. People have to realize thatwhen they have a party of or 6 or more, they can’t camp out at a table for three hours. Pretty good food and service by Rachel R. I had the Turkey club with tors and my wife the quarter pound cheese burger with... waffle fries. Good atmosphere and fairly busy around lunchtime, but not the crowds typical on High Street. We'll certainly goagain when we’re in Oxford. Only reason not 5 stars is there was no soup or chili on the menu, which would compliment thesandwich menu. Read more

The food was good but the service was very poor, we waited for a long time and no one came to take our order, no utensils were... provided for us after the order was served, we needed to ask one by one, I didn't see which one said "China" on the menu, butthe word appeared on my receipt, I don't quite understand. We had the Reuben and the beer cheeseburger on a pretzel bun. Both were pretty good including the tots and fries. I personally... preferred the fries. Food was amazing, service was not the best. Also kids eat free on Sunday with each paying adult, but it was our firs time there... and they seated us without giving us a kid menu so I figured there wasn't a kids menu instead we picked from the sides and gotmy child a Mac and cheese and a burger. We asked our waitress which checked with management if we got the discount they saidonly off kids menu so therefore they didn't honor their side since we were unaware of the situation (even though it didn't state"off kids menu" so we paid full price. The manager didn't even care to adjust nor come to explain instead of sending thewaitress that seemed new and was unsure. Needless to say that caused us to never return due to being so rude and unprofessionalas well as showed me where I didn't want to spend my money at a place that didn't even care to adjust or consider making thingsright.
