We were so excited to try this! The location, atmosphere and decor get 5 stars! However the food was an unexpected... disappointment. I ordered The Gnome & The Mushroom (prologue) which was just ok, and The Southern Gump (Chapter) which had verylittle meat and a whole lot of grits and oil. Both were a mis for us. The food was unnecessarily spicy and the portion was onthe small side for the price. Read more

Just way overpriced and not the greatest quality. You can easily get a better meal for cheaper almost anywhere in Oxford. They... try to make everything sound fancy with fine dining words for example the broccolini is literally just steamed broccoli with noseasoning. Chicken sandwich was over cooked and arugula didn’t seem fresh. I would argue the dining halls have fresherarugula. Read more

4th or 5th visit and the food has been excellent each time. All the appetizers are good, but especially schnitzel and mushrooms.... Hidden Study and Mrs. Daisy burgers have both been great as well as the steaks. Best atmosphere in Oxford. Read more

We were a party of 8 and had a great food and service. Interesting and flavorful twists on burgers, other sandwiches, salads,... and cocktails. Lovely dining room and large, comfortable bar. Read more

Pickle and Pig was a great experience! Prohibition themed, with great drinks, and a large selection of bourbon and rye. Their... craft cocktails are delicious. I recommend the Smoked Manhattan. Cool presentation, and great taste! I got the "Return of Mr.Limpett," and it was the best thing I've had here so far! Shelby was serving us, and she was the best! Would definitelyrecommend and will be coming back :) Read more

We went here for our anniversary, because I wanted a new, fun place to celebrate. I was quite looking forward to it. First, let... me say the food and drinks were very good, and the staff efficient and friendly. But, i had read an article that stated this wasto be a speakeasy-type place, pickles on the tables for starters, with private room one would be taken to if mentioning "blindpig". The owner had stated that "Pickle and Pig's name originated from the homemade pickles that will be a table starter (I wasunder the impression these would be a free starter on each table; I may have missed it, but I don't even recall seeing them onthe menu at all; I also did not notice any dessert on the menu, but did not ask) and the “blind pig” aspect of theProhibition, which is what speakeasies were secretly known as.". No one knew anything about that. Also, the retaurant was sorelylacking in 1920s/prohibition-style decor. The dining area was simply a small room for dining off the bar area, with tables butnothing in the way of prohibition-style ambiance. Not even a white tablecloth. Truthfully, all of this is what I was lookingfor, but did not get. There were also to be rooms dedicated to and named after the Clue board game: study, library, and soforth. Again, nothing of the kind. While we had a good meal and well-made drinks and an enjoyable time with our adult children,we could have had that anywhere. I would go back again IF the atmosphere was truly upped a notch, and as advertised. I gave 4stars because the experience was good enough for 3 1/2, but not poor enough for 3. Read more

My wife & I stopped in for dinner last night to check out Oxford's newest dining experience. The Pickle & Pig. We have been... needing a restaurant like this in Oxford for a long time. This is not a restaurant aimed at the college market. Instead, it'smenu & services are aimed at adults who want a pleasant dining experience & parents of college students. The decor is simple &pleasant. We had a great dining experience. The food and drinks were wonderful. The wait staff was courteous, polite & veryhelpful. We give our waiter (Mason) high marks. The bar was well stocked with mid & semi high tier bourbons as well as all yourother favorites. Since the Pickle & Pig is so new I have included the menus they had at the time. We would definitely dine hereagain & again. We highly recommend that all of us "Townies" support the Pickle & Pig in their endeavor. Note: We went duringtheir soft opening & staff training period. Since dinner was "on the house" I can not give specific $$ for our dinners. I amassuming this would be a medium to medium high priced establishment. Read more
