This is a gem in the Springfield / Ozarks area. From having gone to Miami and a couple of different Latin American countries, I... was really starting to feel what this area is missing, so I was really glad when I found this restaurant via a Google search. Iwent to Puerto Rico over the summer and was so excited to see mofongo on the menu, because I thought it didn't exist in thisarea. The mofongo is delicious (I asked for chicken instead of shrimp). Their gallo pinto is also good. Can't wait to go backand try the other items. (The only thing is I wish they would add fried cheese with guayaba sauce to the appetizers list). Ialso liked the atmosphere, and it was fun to hear popular songs in Spanish from various countries instead of just a Mexicofocus. The street Tacos are so yummy!There are several to choose from! They are worth every single penny spent on these. My husband's... meal was amazing as well. Everything is homemade! The servers are very professional and friendly. The decor is simple withclean lines, with an added cozy feeling. This is our new best kept secret that needs to stay around for a very long time. 6 months ago this would have been 5 stars but wow has the quality of things gone done. Food was good but service has been... consistently bad. Extremely slow to get refills, while workers stand around talking, workers not knowledgeable about the menu,alcoholic drinks taste different every time, one week you won?t get charged for extra salsa or a sauce, next week your payingfor it. It is sad because the food is so good but the service does not match up like it used to when first opened. We used tolove the staff and came every week now I don?t think we will return. Read more
