Service was good, but the food wasn't worth the price. The fries were the only thing that we enjoyed, but the portion was small.... The fried shrimp was too greasy and the catfish seemed like it had a spong texture. We ordered coconut shrimp and didn't expectit to be coconut battered fried shrimp. something else that was annoying was the upcharge for a side salad. My wife could notchoose a salad as her side. She has to order an extra salad for a $4 upcharge, bringing her meal total to $20+ for a smallportion of mahi-mahi, broccoli and a small side salad. Our meal total was $62.00 for the three pictured meals. Something elseworth noting, we were seated very close to other full tables, when there were plenty of other tables open. Read more
Great service and dinner. We had only a few choices for Monday night dinner and this was a great choice. The service was great... and prices good for well prepared seafood. It?s a good sized restaurant and bar with nice ocean decor. Not fancy. My shrimpcasserole was hot and delicious. My husband had blackened mahi-mahi. There is a big selection of cocktails and less extensivewine and beer. The gumbo is excellent too as were the hush puppies sides. Read more
Lunch at Strickland with Tuesday Lunch Buddies. We are missing a couple of ladies due to them traveling or work, but we still... had a good time. To me it was very hot in the restaurant but everyone else was comfortable at the table. (Our temperature herein Paducah was jumping from 32 degrees one day to 79 degrees the next day) our meal was very good and the service was great! Itwas kind of strange to see that the restaurant automatically added a 20% tip to each of our bills. We will go again. They areset up for groups and we could hear ourselves talk. Read more
It was Ok, everything tasted good. The menus had no prices on them, they had a sign that says everything was up a dollar but... couldn't see price to add to it. The waitress was very good,and nice. I had the Harris platter and my wife had the shrimp tacos,red beans and rice were good also. Read more
Great tasting food, seasoned perfectly. Prices very reasonable. Wait times are not bad when they are busy.. Staff is friendly... and attentive. We ate here last night serviced by very nice and efficient waitress by name of ?Red?. Had blacken chicken salad which was huge... portions. Side of awesome okra. Both were excellent!!! Hubby had blackened catfish on bed of rice and a sauce. Side of beans andrice. Again awesome!!! Atmosphere was nicely decorated and cozy. Horrible food. We came in around 3pm and it was empty, probably 3 tables when we got there, not busy. As we came in we had to... wait for someone to seat us. I will say the staff was friendly and the place looks pretty nice. Menu is small, just a page ofitems, simple, this usually is a good sign that they concentrate on making a few items well. We asked the waitress what wasgood and she said a few things and we decided on a catfish po'boy, the cod roll, and the shrimp casserole. Speedy service, foodwas out in 10 minutes, which was concerning if it was fresh food. Everything, you could tell, was prepared or frozen foodthough. The Po'boy was lacking flavor, wilted lettuce, and small piece of fish, 2 out of 5. The roll and casserole we're someof the worst things I've ate in recent memory. They both had a off sweet taste like they had been made a week ago and startedto turn, 0 out of 5. The sides were mediocre flavor and not hot. It could have been such a nice experience but with lowquality food it wasn't. Disappointing since me and the wife went on a date specifically here from over an hour away. One thingthat turned me off immediately also, when we got our check it gives recommended tip percents/amounts. On there it had 20-28%tip. I generally tip 20% unless the service is bad but if you're recommending 28% tips, everything better be done well, food,service, cleaning, atmosphere, all of it. Read more
Fantastic seafood considering the distance from the nearest ocean, and with a Cajun touch. Best froglegs and hushpuppies I've... had since I can remember. Great mixed drinks and friendly staff. The clam chowder wasn't my favorite but it was decent. Definitely recommend and we will go back! Read more
