Our friend threw a surprise birthday party for her husband at Positano's. We had 2 waitstaff taking care of our group of about... 16 people. They did an outstanding job. The service was great, the food was very good and we had a private room which made itvery nice. We started with a variety of appetizers, very good, next we had salads, very fresh and good. We ordered our maincourses from the menu and I heard absolutely no complaints at all. I had chicken marsala and it was delicious. We were notrushed at all and had quite an enjoyable evening. Parking is limited but it was okay. All in all a very nice experience. Read more
The service was excellent and the courses “WERE NOT RUSHED”!!!?????????? That is one thing that really annoys me is when... courses are brought to the table before you finish the first course. When the waitress saw that I was finished what I waseating, she asked if I was ready for the next course. The food was excellent and presented beautifully. My whole experience wasby far the best I’ve had in a very long time. For the quality of the food and the excellence of the waitstaff, I thought thetotal cost was very reasonable. I've been looking for an authentic Southern Italian restaurant in this area and last night I found it. Positano's is in a... shopping plaza off Tampa road and from the outside is unassuming. The interior is a bit dated but from the moment our partyarrived we were impressed. The hostess was very friendly and found our reservation right away. This was a Saturday night andbased on the number of people waiting when we left I would definitely recommend making reservations. We were seated immediatelyand our server came right away. She was friendly, helpful and attentive. We had a few drinks, had an appetizer and placed ourorder and did not feel rushed. The quality and presentation of our meals was excellent and everyone thought the food wasdelicious. I would say that this has to be the best Southern Italian Restaurant we have found in the area. (9/16/2022)This is going to be a ridiculous review: Best calamari I’ve ever had to date. Crispy and light and perfectly done-... not chewy. Also the best marinara I’ve ever had to go along with it. (The standard sauce was fantastic as well) Best Caesarsalad I’ve ever had. The romaine was crisp and crunchy- easily jabbed by a fork and crunched pleasantly in our mouths with alight but flavorful dressing and freshly sliced cheese slivers. Absolutely delightful chicken parmigiana. Again, done toperfection. Moist and tender so that it could be cut with a fork! Not dry, tough or stringy. I’ll stop with the superlativesthere lest the review not seem genuine but the pastas- fettuccine w/Alfredo and angel hair with traditional could not have beenbetter. Service? Well timed and timely, nicely spread out between appetizers, salads and entrees. We never really felt we werewaiting. Stopped here with an elderly companion who is in a wheelchair at 4:45 on a Wednesday. The restaurant was empty except for approx... 4 people at the bar. The hostess asks us if she can help us I tell her we have a party of 2. She disappears for a few minutesand proceeds to come back and tell us that they do not have any tables available on the lower level. She specifically said “wedo not have any tables available on the lower level”. The person I am with is capable of going up a step or two, she is in awheel chair due to stamina issues. So I say “we can take a table up the steps” hostess proceeds to say “those are notavailable either we have reservations for all of the tables” We get back in the car and I check their website. Somehow I’mable to make reservations for the place From 5pm on. just a weird experience all around. Really felt as if they didn’t want todeal with us because of the wheelchair. I had considered trying to go back again another night with a reservation, but we willfind another place to go. Read more
