We have gone to Funck's a couple of times with family and friends and it never disappoints. We always sit at the side with the... bar because we like that vibe better. Service is good for the most part. The food is excellent and if you love beer, they alwayshave a great selection to choose from (or build your beer flight with). The last time we went was for Oktoberfest. Perogies wereon point: crispy on the outside, soft without being soggy on the inside. The Bavarian pretzel sure hit my pretzel cravings.Brats were delicious, as well as the butternut squash soup and the saurekraut. Great place to eat, drink and relax. Read more
When walking in seeing a sign for bingo I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but I definitely chose the right Funck's to go... to. Mac and cheese with Vermont white cheddar, brussels with chunks of thick ham.... What! A tropical drink that comes with afree tiki glass! Wonderful experience with excellent service. If I could give 10 stars I would. We drove from NH to PA to visit friends. They live in this town. Their suggestion for lunch. ... Boy oh boy what a great suggestion. I had the baked tomato crock, grilled cheese with chips. Husband had perogies and bangers. I want the recipe for the baked tomato crock (holy sh$t was it delicious, lick the bowl clean, yummy). Let's just say we lovedit so much we went back for dinner. I got the fish taco's (servers, recommendation. Could not agree more), toasted marshmallowmartini (see photo). Husband got the Ruben, we split the mac n cheese, took to the hotel the in house made chocolate peanutbutter cake. Yes we ate it all. Roll us into the hotel. Husband said the Ruben was one of the best he has ever had. Mac ncheese super creamy and delicious. Perfect suggestion from the server on the fish tacos they were great. I sure wish we livedcloser. Service was good had a bit of a hiccup with the reservations but they were fortunately able to accommodate. Food was delicious... and staff was super friendly and responsive even with a larger party. Read more
The restaurant itself and the staff are welcoming. The food was not very good. I ordered the French onion soup, the soup was... excellent. However, they put croutons in there that broke down and gave the soup a gritty stale flavor. Why not take the extrastep and put a decent crouton in otherwise excellent soup? Next I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, cooked medium well. The baconwas so rubbery it was barely cooked. The burger was charred with black stuff on it on the outside but bright red on the inside.The fries had a coating on them that I just wasn’t a fan of. The one good item that I ordered was the fried mozzarella. Thatwas flavorful and was served with a tasty sauce. I wanted to like this place but the most of the food was not good. Hmmm where to start? This place was a sports bar/restaurant type place that smelled of stale beer. It has potential...It was... fairly nice. The food was very tasty but very expensive for what you got. Normally I would give it a four star just because ofthe smell and me having to wipe the crumbs off of my seat before sitting down. I always run off the premise that if they can'ttake care of basic cleaning where customers can see like tables and restrooms, what happens in the kitchen!?? Anyway I dingedthem an extra star because of them not being sufficiently accommodative to people with food restrictions. I'm a brittle diabeticthat doesn't respond to medications and cannot eat sugar or carbs and have to eat a very low carb diet. Even if it was apersonal weight loss diet like keto/carnivore choice, it shouldn't matter. A good restaurant will allow me to just orderhamburger patties, eggs or bacon a' la carte. Here they insisted on me ordering the hamburger meal and wanted to charge over $6for an extra patty. I would've ordered two patties even at that price if i could have. I went ahead and ordered just the baconcheeseburger without the bun and at least let me substitute the fries for a few asparagus. The meal came and I didn't get anybacon on my bacon cheeseburger. The patty was good but nowhere near a $6 patty. We also ordered garlic parmesan wings. Theywere very good and premium size wings. The sauce was delicious but I'm afraid suspiciously sweet. So in a nut shell. Overpriced,underwhelmed, and left hungry with over a $65 bill for two people (not including tips or any alcoholic drinks). I would suggestto management that they take a look at their operation and tighten up on disinfecting and bussing protocols, as well as, takinga look at offering some low carb meals or a' la carte menu choices that would help the over 50% of the us population who havediabetes, pre-diabetes and other Metabolic health issues. It was our first time there, and I have to say that, though on the pricier side of restaurants, the food was excellent with a... very good portion size. It wasn't busy or crowded at all, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We willdefinitely be coming back! Read more
Ordered online. I wouldn’t order the fish and chips with a side Caesar salad again. Was at least better than the fried fish at... Naples, so it has that going for it. Read more
