Awesome place to eat. Food is very good at a descent price. I used to eat here when i was a kid 15+ years ago.
I came here all the time while in high school in White Deer with my family. My dad and his family ate here when he was growing... up in Skellytown. He remembers the $0.10 coneys and the made from scratch, secret recipe chili. And so do I (not the dimehotdogs though ????). It's been almost 20 years since either of us have been back and we were a little disappointed. The famouschili didn't have anything special about it and it also looked a little watered down. Don't get me wrong, the food was ok butneither of us tasted the food we had those many years ago. OMG! This place has not changed in 50 years! Brings a tear to my eye. I LOVED growing up here & the picture of Ted made my... heart skip a beat. Oh the memories of Johnny & Ted and EPIC arguments! I would go back to this place & that time! Helen &her mother. RAISIN PIE! My favorite sandwich was the ham with coney sauce & fried egg! If you want an old time delicious coney dog smothered in chili then this is your place! This is an old time diner in scenery... and food quality! The food is delicious and made from scratch. The homemade chili is traditional Texas Red and is delicious.Hamburgers, hot dogs, double baked ham sandwiches and at least ten different kinds of homemade pies?even the crust is homemade!I order my holiday pies from here and it is worth driving 40 miles to get them. I think this place is awesome. Their chili is VERY good. I had the chili cheese coney, the frito chili pie, the chili with... cornbread ad their stew with cornbread. All are GREAT. I highly recommend. Read more
