Ambiance was beautiful with live music. The food was very good but over priced. The service was poor. It took more than 20... minutes just to receive a menu, no one greeted us when we arrived or said goodnight when we left. We ordered a bottle of whitewine that we had to pour ourselves. I wanted to leave a review on the Facebook page, but they disabled that option after so many bad reviews. If you want a good... example of what dinner will be like, look at all the recent bad reviews on Yelp and Ignore the positive reviews left by newusers with only one rating to their name. They obviously ask their friends to give good reviews just to try and keep theirrating up. I doubt they’ve ever visited the restaurant. The place is grossly understaffed and overpriced. An appetizer, twodrinks and a main course was all we had and we sat for three and a half hours. Dirty plates left on table. Was disgusted withthe experience. Read more
What a phenomenal culinary experience! From the moment you walk into the door the atmosphere is amazing. The owners make you... feel at home and part of the family right away. From the drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts just all so delicious andfresh! The variety of dishes to choose from is perfect! And the decor is top notch. I cannot wait to go back and dine! First time trying Esty. We were greeted by a very friendly host and taken to our table. Our table was extremely close to the... next table - it felt like we were all seated together. .we were then given a drinks menu. We ordered drinks, and waited a whilebefore they arrived. The waiter then went through the specials. We could not tell anything he said as he spoke very fast, andwas trying to speak quietly due to the nearness to the people on next table. After asking him to repeat items, we still couldnot understand so we ordered from the menu. The starter and main were very good. Presentation was impressive. We finally got ourcheck and noted some of the items were higher than what was listed on the menu. Food was decent but unlikely we’d go back dueto the set up of the tables, and it seemed over priced - for what you get. The drinks were paricularly small. Read more
Food is good, I’ve eaten here before, and it used to be better. Service was great, our waiter, Simeon, was really good. The... biggest issue was when I got the bill and found out I’m paying $300 for dinner for 2, because ONE appetizer cost $125. Nexttime please tell me when you read the specials that this one costs $125. This made the whole experience much less enjoyable. What a disappointment. We arrived for our reservation at 630pm and stood by the hostess desk for 5 minutes until we were... greeted by a very personable and polite man. After being sat and handed a huge drink menu our waiter came over, about 15 minutesafter we sat down. We ordered drinks, a martini and a glass of wine, and then waited 30 MINUTES before saying anything … atthis point we had still not received our drinks or menus and our waiter had not stopped by at all. Another 15 minutes passedbefore the waiter came with drinks, menus and of course an apology. After receiving the menus we AGAIN WAITED, finally weordered and waited AGAIN! I don’t mean a 5 or 10 minute wait. I mean a 20-30 minute wait each time! Let’s get to the food,there were people who walked around and asked if you’d like bread, great I love bread and since we’ve been waiting YESPLEASE. Well some pieces were cold and hard and others were warm and soft, my boyfriend was lucky enough to get a warm one, minewas cold and hard, of course. We ordered lobster medallions as an appetizer. They were so over cooked, rubbery and hard tochew. Awful. For dinner I had the lamb which was a special and it was great (honestly the only reason I’m giving this place 2stars). My boyfriend had the “16oz” filet mignon, they leave out that 12oz of this filet are the bone. It was the smallestamount of meat I’ve ever seen served for 60$ as a filet mignon. After dinner we WAITED AGAIN to ordered dessert. By the way,this was our anniversary dinner and when the reservation was made it was specifically noted to write happy anniversary on ourdessert. Which they said “no problem, we do all that all the time” After waiting another 45 minutes for our dessert toarrive … there was no happy anniversary written and again an apology from the server. We had a fantastic dinner at Esty Street! Came to celebrate a birthday and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere of the... restaurant is intimate and the speakeasy decor is very cool (even with the plastic dividers for covid). The service is reallygood and our waiter + busser were friendly and attentive. The drink menu was creative and we ordered the sparkling cavacocktail - even though it’s so bright in color like fruit punch it wasn’t overly sweet which was good. Our entrees wereamazing!! We got the caramelized pork chop + the surf and turf special which was a filet and crab cake. We both loved our dishes- well cooked, so flavorful, very delicious! Dessert was great too - we loved the rich chocolate torte & tried the toffee breadpudding with maple bacon ice cream. The bread pudding wasn’t the most desserty dessert but it was very unique.
