I like Thrifty's and have mostly found the staff polite, particularly the gentleman in the bulk food area who is always friendly... and willing to help you. Food prices are on another planet wherever you shop right now and I rarely, if ever, see anyone in anygrocery store buying more than just than a few items at a time. Much more care needs to be taken in food choices andcorresponding prices. Shopping sale items seems to be the normal for most. For management who allowed the table.....and to thegentlemen who were at the table recently set up inside the store where you must pass by to pay for your groceries.....you woulddo better with a donation box and let people decide to donate what they can afford, if at all, rather than directly approachinggrocery store customers to buy a calendar from you at an ambitious cost of $20. If people have to make a choice these daysbetween a $20 calendar.... or a head of lettuce, or a loaf of bread and milk for their family? Just saying. Read more

Thrifty's is like no other grocery store. I love that it's a local grocer from the Vancouver Island. I've worked for Thrifty's,... on the Mainland and really got to see their quality of purchases for every department in the store. I love that they carry greatquick meal ideas for a single person. These days everything seems to be for families or in large quantities. I love the soupsand the chicken pot pie and beef pot pies. Always great produce, great selection of cheeses in the deli. Plenty of parkingoutside and they deliver! Also use paper bags not plastic for your groceries. Like everywhere else they are short staffed yetare working to bring you the best of the Thrifty name! Please be patient with the employees for they are doing their best. Read more

Nice new store but has gotten very expensive. Found a moldy bag of lemons and kindly told and passed to a produce guy. He... pointed down without saying anything ( it was the scraps,) so l threw it n. Didn't even say Thank you for bringing to ourattention. I said your welcome as l walked away. This was the late afternoon of Oct 30/22 and it was not the bald produce guy (he is polite) Read more

I am standing in line at the cashier this morming and there are three epople in front of me. A lady comes behind me and... comments on why they dont open another cashier? I said I am thinking the same thing. Next thing I know, another cashier opensand the cashier does not ask for the "next person in line" which is customary. Instead, she takes the lady in back of me. Idecide to move my 5 small items to her cash register and I ask her" Why did you dont take "the next person in line"? Her answeris "That person only had one item". I say I only had 5 items, I said to her "You should have asked me as I was the next personin line". She then proceeded to call me rude. I asked her for the store managers name and phone number. She refused to giveme the store manager's telephone number. Mr Bill Rutherford, are you aware of how RUDE ("Charly"), this employee is to yourcustomers??? Read more

Not that its terrible but it's the worst grocery store in town. Quality is newer and nicer with better selection,in store... kitchen, Chinese food, sushi bar on site you can ask to have whatever made. Save on foods is the biggest and cheapest most thetime. But even with recent renos I'd still rate this store as the 3rd best in town out of the big 3 Read more

On a previous visit a cashier made an error on our invoice. We did not notice until we got home. When we returned the next day... they acknowledged the error with out any hesitation. The Manager and the Department Head were quick to make a apologise andmake a refund. . Definitely will continue to shop at Thrifty Foods. Read more
