My family has been going to this restaurant on Thanksgiving for a few years. The food is always good and the staff always... professional and friendly. Every year staff has been kind enough to make my husband, a vegetarian, a grilled cheese sandwich,because there is never anything a vegetarian can eat other than fries and salad. My main criticism is that this year, the staffwas not allowed to make anything off the menu. I get it, you want to stick to the holiday menu. We held our Halloween themed wedding of 120 people at the Bowman. The staff did an amazing job and made my night as a bride... easy. Best of all it was very affordable for a couple on a budget! The food was good, but it wasn't special, if that makes sense. The staff and service were awesome, but I won't actively go back... unless I'm invited. The best way to put it, is everything was kinda bland. Or at least the stuffed shrimp and mashed potatoeswere. I tried the fries and they were really good, the cream of crab soup was YUMMMMMMM. We had a very nice lunch after a funeral. Several of us got the sliced beef bistro sandwich and the beef was cut to thick to... bite through easily. All the other meals were fine. Read more
Me and my family went to Bowmans restaurant and we were VERY DISAPPOINTED. The appetizers were stone cold and there was more... lettuce than appetizer. It seems very wasteful to serve over lettuce which was soggy and not edible for human consumption. Therewas a seed in a ice water with no lemon at all. The old bay wings were so salty and made my grandfathers blood pressure gothrough the roof. The aging facility?s are shocking! Wall paper falling off paint buckets in sight which was not appetizing, andunclean bathrooms. When we asked for a straw the waiter brought it out using her fingers and the straw was not in a wrapperwhich is not safe during the pandemic. The Caesar salad was awful but the turkey sandwich wasn?t half bad. The highlight of thenight was the rolls which was the only five star item on the menu. The service wasn?t awful as well as the burger. Therestaurant needs a renovation and a new menu and or chef. Won?t be going back again, the restaurant has really gone down hill !! Read more
The food was great! Loved everything I got. Even the hot bread was delicious. Everything was so well seasoned and the portions... were large enough to have ample leftovers. The dessert was simply excellent too, I got the double chocolate cake. My friends gotthe chicken alfredo and brownie sundays and they enjoyed that as well, large portions so you def get your money?s worth. Pricesare reasonable, plenty of seafood options. My sticking point was with service. Def was hit or miss. Also Wish they had heatersfor the outdoor patio, we sat outside and it chilly especially with the fall winds and the zippers not closing. Our waitresswasn?t as attentive or welcoming as I would desire or expect; we moved tables and had to actually move the tables and chairs!they didn?t really clean off our table as we finished things, & had to keep asking for small things, like a spoon, napkins etc.wasn?t very busy inside so I?m not too sure why.
