Reviews for Di Salvo's Bella Cucina and Di Salvo's Family Style Meals in Parry Sound, ON

We have come here many times, and my biggest critique is consistency. Sometimes it's been fantastic, other times very... disappointing and a completely different taste for the exact same menu items (perhaps differences with who is the chef?). Ithink what I see is that the business is trying to offer too much at once (Italian, Casual, Fine Dining, Asian, Catering...)instead of focusing on doing less but doing it well and consistently. I hope that they can figure it out because they are a goodaddition to the community and there is a lot of promise there. Disappointed dinner. Waited for 1 hour for the food to come. The salad was half croutons. The pasta undercooked and sausage in... the pasta was just unable to eat. The other Alfredo dish was 50%sauce. As you can see in the photo. Shepherds pie looksundercooked and had bits of pink meat in it; used frozen vegetables tri-mix and (told me they did not have lasagna and changedto shepherds pie waiting 30mins in.)The fish and chips had coleslaw that looks pinkish on the side. Looks dark and taste likeonion. Just a place to avoid if you want to have a pleasant dinner. Not a 4.4 star review restaurant. Read more

This was rather an OK overall experience. The food was good for the price but not exceptional. The cooking took a bit too long... and we had to order more drinks during waiting. If I was on a hurry I would have left without food. Considering that the placewas half empty I removed a star for that. The service was pleasant but not much helpful for speeding up food preparation. Thecuisine selection is mostly Italian-style (i.e. lots of pasta) but I have found a chicken pot pie that was well done. Coffeerefill was not offered even with the wait. Considering the place is in Parry Sound it compares not bad with the popular Baystreet Café (excluding the view, of course). Read more

Tried brunch buffet they?ve started. It was ok. Breakfast items were good but no lunch items added until nearly noon. Waited... with anticipation for lunch additions but they were hit and miss. Alfredo was good, chicken balls and egg rolls were also goodas beef rib. The fried rice was mush and not good at all. It?s nice to see a buffet open again, lots of room to improve andsure they?ll figure it out. Was very busy in bursts and wait staff were good and friendly even if one greeted us with goodevening. Great home style Italian dinner! It's a but pricey, but portions are huge! Very friendly staff. Loved the ambience.

I saw this restaurant had a high rating, so I convinced my friends to visit. We came in with a group of 6, and waited almost an... hour for the food to come up. The server didn?t visit once during the waiting. I was so looking forward to the veel, but it wasreally hard to chew, and was a sweet taste, i personally didn?t like it. Great fine dining restaurant, even if you are used to Toronto amenities! Bella Cucina pic he?s above its weight class, even... compared to the best downtown Toronto restaurants. Prices and portion sizes are very fair. For appetizers I would recommend theescargot or scallops, and for entrees the chicken tetrazzini or the mushroom risotto. The cappuccino also had no business beingas good as it was. Would definitely recommended and will come back again for sure. Excellent meals, huge menu (see photos), fantastic, friendly and attentive service, couldn't be beat, my meal of Jaeger... Schnitzel was very savoury and tasty. Meal was served promptly. Bottomless Decaf Coffee was excellent. My dinner was inexpensiveat $22 including non alcoholic drink, coffees and meal. My only regrets were that my meal was not hot, and elevator music wasannoying.
