The food was absolutely delicious, and Antonio made us feel welcome and like we were in Italy! He surprised us with a delicious... red wine choice and even brought us a complimentary panna cotta dessert when we were too full for a full dessert. What amazingservice and atmosphere. A very tasty Italian dinner in downtown Pasadena. You can tell this place has been open for many years as the inside is a bit... dated and also the crowd dining around us was a bit mature in age as well. The menu is very large with lots of traditional andsome pretty unique choices. They had a lot of specials available the evening we went but I ended up choosing one of theirsignature dishes. Our waiter was also very quick and attentive. I was able to find street parking right out front, but thereare also pay lots close. For my starter I chose the Beef Carpaccio because it’s one of my favorite appetizers and it was verygood. I appreciated the generous amount of capers. For my entrée I chose the Osso Bucco. It too was very tasty and the saffronrisotto may have been my favorite part of the dish. Overall I would recommend if you’re in the Pasadena area. The place was full and we had no reservation. The hostess told us that there will be a wait but she sat us right away. Despite... being understaffed, we enjoyed our dinner experience. The porterhouse steak, rack of lamb and veal were cooked to perfection.The spaghetti cacio pepe, panna cotta and ricotta cheesecake were ok. Read more
Well, I was way out of my league on this one. My Italian is non-existent which made choosing what to order difficult. I asked my... waiter what was the most popular items but he spoke so fast I couldn't understand him. He was very patient with us but the foodwas bland. There were a lot of older folks and maybe they cater to their pallet. However... The vibe and decor of the place wasjust what I was looking for on a date night. Wonderful piece of ITALY in the center of Pasadena. Very cozy atmosphere of respect and peace. The staffers are super... professionals with the knowledge of Italian language. They have more than 20 kinds of pasta and if you ask them they can addextra 20 hidden kinds of pasta. The more I visit the place the more I become addicted to ITALIAN kitchen and traditions.
