Enchiladas (chicken) good, birria tacos great, lomo saltado very flavorful i love how the sweet potato fries were sweet kinda... like a sweet and savory dish(well seasoned). To drink i got a mojito it was very good, and the horchata colada was very goodalso if you like sweet. The drinks are strong (personally) but worth the money. This has to be one of the warmest , most welcoming Mexican food restaurants I've ever been to. Our server, Alba, was so... delightful, knowledgeable and simply amazing! Needless to say, the food was absolutely excellent. This is a truly an authenticMexican restaurant, like being in Mexico, say... Michoacan. The beautiful decor: painted walls, seats and color. This place has amazing food!! Oh my god i would sell my soul for sone of their things. Also the aesthetic of the lights and... music is so nice i absolutely love it there. Came with a party of four. The food was great but the service was atrocious. When we we're seated in a very chilly spot, we... asked our hostess to seat us at a table not far away. She said sure, as soon as it's clean. As soon as the table was cleaned itwas given away to another party. Great start to the evening. Our server couldn't be bothered to have our appetizers come outfirst, so we had every plate come out at the same time and had to choose between cold appetizers or cold entrees. The busboytook our plates quite literally as soon as we took our last bites. I appreciate the proactiveness but dang let me finish my foodin peace. The worst part, our bill. Our bill was switched with another table's. We paid the bill we were given and proceeded tofinish our drinks. About 15 minutes later, they caught the issue and rather than let it go ($40 difference) and came to ourtable in a very confrontational way and demanded we pay the correct bill. The way they presented the issue to us, was almost asif our table was getting away with something by them making a mistake. Not only did it ruin the night but if we left afterpaying would they have tracked us down and made us come back? When we got the manager to come to our table (an older Hispanicman) he refused to listen to anything our female patrons had to say. It wasn't until one of the guys at our table said somethingthat the manager wanted to start working with us. If it's a machismo thing, it has no place in the customer service industry.Our night was ruined, and bless the cooks because they're the ones keeping people coming back. Read more
Moderately priced, great ambiance, intriguing decor, murals.. We visited Thursday evening before 5pm (started getting busy... fast), right on time for happy hour. We had "El Valiente" it's an acquired taste since it has mezcal, slightly smokey taste. Themichelada mix (classic) was good, they use Tabasco in their mix. Mushroom taco: I've got much room for mushroom, well seasonedand handmade tortillas. Enchiladas Verde: great sauce, the chicken is white meat and comes with rice and beans. Dragon Roll: isa MUST try, I enjoyed every bite, tempted to lick the plate! Guacamole: eh, it was ok, needed salt, lime and lacked a kick ofspice. I'd pass. Quesa Birria Tacos: (mouth watering), they come with the consume to dip the tacos! Another must try. Yes theyplay music but you don't need to yell or scream to hear each other speak. This location is cool. The decor and the music (super loud on a Friday night). Cool vibes and the bday celebrations are... something else. The food and the drinks are pretty good. I ordered the sushi rolls, amazing! And my bf ordered the burger, itwas good! Definitely recommend this place for a celebration and if you are looking to have a good time. Read more
I?ve been wanting to come here for a very long time! Kalaveras was so good, they will be in Burbank soon (per website) super... excited! Our server was Chris - amazing! This place did not disappoint. The music took me back to middle school and high school,loved it! I had a mezcal drink and a mango michelada which were so good! Two of my favorite drinks ???? I absolutely loved therice and the barbacoa taco! My boo had two margaritas, also delicious. The chips and salsa were great, these chips were thin andcrispy. We ordered guacamole, the chips were thicker and crispy. Overall loved the energy! Read more
