Great food. Terrible service. Asked a guy nicely if o could get an extra dollar in change and ok, he says no. I get it. But he... then tried to just give me nickel and dimes for the rest of my change! Read more

I love that Arturo made me a vegan option without mushrooms. I'm not a fan of any mushrooms, but I do hear good things about... them here. The beans are superb, which is kind of rare from the previous places I've tried. Very friendly service. At night, theline can go out the door. It's not fast food, but it's worth the wait. Read more

I am sorry to say this is the last time I try this place. Its decayed to the point it will be closed in 3 - 6 months. Quality... has gone way down. My chicken had bone fragments. No taste "None" Remember its just a taco. Service is average . I so wantedthis to be my go too spot. Do yourself a big favor and "Skip" over this bland simple food spot. Read more

This place is quite the stop. If I was ever in the area I’d definitely swing by again. Had their vampiro tacos as well as... their regular ones as well. Got the usual on the menu including the quesadilla. The quesadilla isn’t like your usual big softflour tortilla but like a tostada size. Their mushroom taco was pretty darn good, better than expected. Their variety of sauceswere great but the spiciest was the least expected, via green. You also know it’s legit when they have the toastedchili/garlic blended in oil/fat sauce. The food wasn’t as heavy and I felt light after eating all those items. Definitelyworth a try and it’s a bit different than your typical taco place, but overall delicious. Also it’s more of a smalltogo/stand shop so no seats to really sit but you stand on the counter to eat. If it ever gets busy you might have to try tofigure out a way to eat somewhere. Read more

Definitely not like the OG street version in K Town that I tried a few years back, but hit the spot on this day. The version I... tried before, with the service, banter and meat right off the trompo by the master was perfect. If anything, the prices werehigh for the times (a few years before Covid), but otherwise all good. The Pasadena version had the trompo and a few moresalsas than I remember (6 total now), but missed a little something. Pasadena was pretty lively the Wed before Thanksgiving, but1986 was dead. Maybe that was the reason for what was missing from the food. I always say a busy restaurant has the freshestfood. Anyway, food was good, just not 5 star worthy on this visit. Love that you can serve your own salsa and service wasvery friendly. Bonus review: Could not decide between King Taco and 1986, so tried both on this day. Spoiler alert, King Tacoon this day lost! Generally my go to, but not today :( Read more

Visited Thursday, 530pm take out No wait upon walking in Clean, simple design. The Adobada is fantastic, & the chicken. FYI,... this is a taqueria, not a Mexican restaurant— to the woman in the comments complaining about not having beans andrice. Pros: Fresh yellow corn tortillas are the real deal. A LOTTT of places don't use fresh tortillas and you can absolutelytaste the difference. Adobada & chicken taste great. Generous amount of guacamole added onto the tacos. Friendlystaff Cons: LatinX sticker on the window ruins the "authenticity" of the restaurant. Don't use gentrified words & claimauthentic Tijuana style. It's LatinO. LatinX isn't a real word. There is no where to sit here, just awkward low standingtables. Place stools to sit. (See pictures) There is no parking near this location and you'll either have to walk a good coupleof blocks, or shell out $6+ on parking. The Carne Asada is a let down, and the mushroom is hit or miss being too salty attimes. The Coke is overpriced at $3 for a 12oz. Bottle, offer a 20 oz at least. The cucumbers were VERY bitter andflavorless The vampiros are a bit stale. Overall, if you just order Adobada or chicken, you'll love this place and the flavorsare very similar to Tijuana style tacos, but consistency in flavor is lacking for some items. The location is not ideal, theinterior is WAY too barebones, basically only good to place orders or pick up & Gentrification of my culture doesn't sit wellwith me. Just focus on serving good food and having quality service to start Read more

We were excited to try this place since it was recommended by our hotel. Tortillas are freshly made for every taco. How ever we... were disappointed on flavor. Tacos al pastor/adobada were flavorless. No adobe taste at all. The only good thing is that theyserve a lot of guacamole on your taco. And that’s it. Staff was nice. Clean place. The rest of my party didn’t like iteither. Read more
