Beautiful food and location, great / friendly service but most of the food totally lacked flavor. We ordered the egg sandwich... and the gruyere sandwich. There were no distinct flavors and it felt like eating air and our best guess ( which sounds absurd)is they use shortening instead of butter let alone good butter). The prices were too high for below average food. All in all,the bread is great but the hot meals are be skipped. Read more

Glad to have a location closer to home. Whenever I have time I grab a loaf of bread and some ham and cheese croissants.... Incredible quality but you pay for it. Read more

Great vibe at this Tartine in Pasadena on a Sunday morning. The line is a bit long and it was hard to find a seat though. My... quiche was average. Read more

Bread, croissants and jam are tasty and better than at most other bakeries. Location is mixed. Beautiful trees, but the tables... outside are not very cozy and seem improvised, at odds with the architecture. Sometimes you catch the smell of cooked meat andchicken from the nearby supermarket. All this for a steep cost. Read more

This place has a comfortable, neighborhood hang out vibe with a constant flow of patrons waiting for their morning pick me up... and, if you so desire, excellent breakfast. I would suggest the egg sandwich with a cup of coffee and fill it with bacon or keepit vegetarian and a simple slice of avocado, or both! Which is what I did. You won?t regret it. This breakfast sandwich is onanother level. I would describe it to you but I think you should just go experience it for yourself. Best breakfast sandwichI?ve ever had. Bar none. And I LOVE food. Have you heard of Tartine bakery? If not, should head over to the newly opened Tartine in Pasadena and try their pastries and... breads and then you know why you should definitely know this bakery. They are famous for their artisan pastry and breads. Infact, Tartine was on Neflix?s second season Chef Show. In the show, Chad Robertson, the co-owner showed the TV host Jon Fareauand Roy Choi how to make sourdough bread. Every time I go to San Francisco, I have to visit Tartine to get their croissant andsourdough sandwich even though I have to wait in a long line. The bread truly is spectacular, with incredible flavor and texturethat may just ruin mass-produced sliced bread for visitors who fall in love with the good stuff. Tartine?s San Francisco cafe isa carb-lover?s paradise, with multiple different types of delicious rustic and classic French bread recipes baked up freshdaily. When I heard that Tartine is opening a bakery in Pasadena, I was excited and looking forward to its opening. I finallygot a chance to visit the bakery today after church. Got myself a regular and an Almond croissant, a sourdough turkey sandwichfor my wife and a cup of coffee and ice tea. The croissants are heavenly. They are very butterly and crispy. I loved themultilayer structure of the croissant. That?s indication of a good crafted pastry. No wonder Tartine has won so many awards. With technical prowess and refined creativity leading to delicious results, Tartine has won a number of prestigious food awards. It won a James Beard Award for excellence in baking and pastry, and it?s regularly named to ?best of? lists in the Bay Area andfor the United States as a whole. So now that Tartine is here locally with locations throughout LA, we don?t have to go to SFin order to get the taste of the famous and delicious breads and pastries. Read more

Love the flaky pain au jambon, the salty ham is baked both inside and outside the bread . We also like the pan au chocolate and... morning bun. The lemon tart, crumb cake with seasonal jam and lemon tea cake are ok. It?s a tad more expensive than otherPasadena bakeries. Read more

While the morning bun is attractive, it?s not the best. It was very tough on the outside and doughy in the middle. A misfire.... Coffee very acrid. I?m very disappointed in the price. That morning bun is $5 alone. Still, it?s good to have another bakery inPasadena. I likely won?t seek this one out again, however. Read more
