Quality of food has diminished, macaroni and cheese w lobster was dry as if it was reheated… not a memorable meal at all.

2hr minimum visit. Located inside the hotel with valet only parking, the Royce restaurant has a very slow casual elegance... vibe. I ordered their Australian ribeye wagyu steak. Did not have flavor and though a decent steak, it should have been moresucculent. The shrimp cocktail was ok. The street corn did not taste like street corn. The baked potato was good, I reallyenjoyed how they used potato mousse to smooth out the dish. The duck fries need to be tried. Not because they are the best butbecause it's made in duck fat, yes, duck fat. I wouldn't come back due to the price of what you get, there's better out therefor a $100 steak. But the ambience can make me want to give it another shot. Read more

This is a top tier steakhouse without a doubt. Between the 4 of us we had 4 different cuts of steak from different farms across... the world. Each one was of the highest quality and was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend that you ask yourwaiter about not only wine pairings but also the sauce pairings for each steak. Top service and relaxing yet intimate atmosphereaccompanied our flawless food. We will definitely be back. Read more

My mom and I had a splendid meal at the Royce! Beautiful views, outstanding food, and impeccable service. My mom enjoyed the... chimichurri sauce with her filet (albeit, her steak was a little salty) and I enjoyed the bordelaise with my ribeye. And we bothloved the roasted garlic served with our steaks. Our server, Sullivan, recommended the bread pudding for dessert, which was TODIE FOR! My mom said it’s the best bread pudding she’s ever tasted. That is quite the endorsement! Read more

My wife and I dined here to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. Our experience here was excellent. Other than the small... issue with the initial cocktails we ordered (they ran out of ingredients to make the cocktails!?), our meal was superb as wasthe service. We received a lovely complimentary Happy Anniversary chocolate Mousse cake for dessert! The dining experiencehere is high-end and a stroll through the grounds of the Langham Hotel after dinner to walk off a few calories is always atreat. Read more

Exquisite Grand Service by Simon, Hallmark of The Royce: Simon, le sommelier extraordinaire, is the sine qua non, the... quintessential element in the haut service provided by the Royce at the Langham Hotel. The times that I have gone to the Royce,Simon has been there to bestow courtesies, thoughtful kindness, exemplary service, vast knowledge of all things potable, and thewonderful ability & willingness to impart his vast knowledge to those guests who would like to be more educated & informed inthe vast field of enology. In other words, Simon is a great teacher, and I value his enthusiasm in edifying me to be better inappreciating all wines. For example, when I asked his advice for what would be a good wine pairing for their Wood Grilled RibEye, which was medium rare meat was tender, melt-in-your-mouth beefy fattiness w/ a nice meaty chaw. White oak added a touch ofastringent smokiness & hickory a passing sweetness. Salting was perfect since it emphasized the beefiness, & spicing wassubtle allowing the meat flavours to shine through. Different parts of the steak had different textures from soft velvety to arougher chaw producing different mouthfeel to entertain the palate, Simon brought me a 3 wine flight so that I could pair therib eye three different ways. 1) BV Reserve Tapestry 2011 Beaulieu Vineyard, Napa: "The low-yields of an exceptional coolvintage gave our 2011 Reserve Tapestry its refined elegance, while five Bordeaux-heritage varietals contributed layer-upon-layerof flavor complexity. This is a wine that shows the artistry of the winemaker. Jeffrey chose Cabernet Sauvignon and CabernetFranc for the wine's core of briary blackberry and cassis expression and its firm tannin structure. He then added Merlot forplush mid-palate texture and a hint of cherry. Petit Verdot and Malbec complete the blend with nuances of ripe plum, rose, forest loam and graphite." 2) Camins del Priorat 2013 Alvaro Palacio, Catalunya, Espanya: "Deep and brigh Read more

Great atmosphere, excellent service, but I wouldn't give 5 star for the actual steak taste. There wasn't any kind of special... sauce or seasonings. Or any signature chief unique cooking style that you would expect at this price level... just regular pieceof meat, plus my ribeye was very fatty and greasy. Read more
