Wine Tasting Series, Part 2 The DAOU Family Estates is located in the hills overlooking much of the Paso Robles Wine Country... and if you’re seeking an upscale wine tasting experience, this place certainly deserves your consideration. The grounds aresituated at an elevation of 2,200 feet, making it the highest winery on the California Central Coast. A wine tasting here costs$50 and includes 6 different samplings including a Rose, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, but sparklingoptions are not offered. For those of you participating in the wine tasting experience, minus the wine, your options arelimited to only the complimentary water they provide. There are several quality culinary pairings available and we found theCheese & Charcuterie Board, coupled with a Baguette, to further accentuate the experience. Even mid-week this place is busy, sowe’d highly recommend making a reservation. There are wonderful indoor and outdoor seating opportunities and the views to thevalley below are majestic and create an outstanding ambiance. Finally, our “Wine Educator” demonstrated considerableknowledgeable of the wines available, as well as the winery itself, and provided outstanding service. And that’s…HenryTake. #pasorobleswinetasting Read more

Happy Fall. Y'all. Louie, the PBGV. Since I was a baby in 2015, I have traveled with my Mom and Dad to Paso Robles wineries for... wine tasting. I love going to all these places, seeing people, getting lots of attention. Today, we visited, DAOU Winery. Itwas high on the mountain with spectacular views, lizards, kitties, little kids wanting kisses, and an awesome charcuterie tray. Mom and Dad loved it. I did too! Josh, our wine server was the best we have ever had! Read more

Pretty spot, for sure. Great views. Some wines were nice. Only two stalls in the women's restroom and one was out of order. Not... ideal. Thankfully I went at a slower time. Read more

The view is spectacular. There’s a panoramic view from the hilltop, you really can’t beat it. The view is probably factored... into the tasting price of $50. The do have some food options available as well. We had a nice meat and cheese charcuterie board, just beware if you do a combo it’s that you’re ordering both and not splitting half and half. Amanda doing our wine tastingwas extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have some excellent wines especially the ones not found at your normal retailstore. Read more

We arrived early for our tasting and were directed to park. We relaxed and enjoyed the views until it was time to begin. What an... experience, so much better than other wineries I've been to, not a rushed experience and no huge crowds. Our server wasknowledgeable about the grapes and other questions we had. They do separate cheese and meat boards, but you can combine them fora reasonable price. The tasting cost 45 per person, but if you buy 3 bottles the fee is waived (I ended up with 6). I liked 3out of 5 wines, my dad liked them all. They also had a phone charging station!!! The only thing I was a little surprised by wasthe bathroom situation, 2 stalls for the women's room(maybe they have more, but for a place that big wasn't expecting that).Would definitely return and recommend. This vineyard is beautiful, definitely plan at least half a day to hang out in the seating areas. They do not sell wine by the... glass, you have to purchase bottles. The charcuterie is worth it!! Read more

You have to experience this place! It has been over 12 years since we have been here. So much has changed! The view is still... breathtaking and the wine is even better than I remember. But I must tell you to come here and eat the food!!!!!! I am a foodieand all the food we tasted was amazing. I am not lying. The steak cooked beautifully and the mushrooms made the dishes.Mushrooms even in the salad were over the top superb! Yes, the tastings were $45 pp, but waived with 2 bottle purchase pp. Youget what you pay for. Huge open spaces, very relaxing. Plan to spend some time here, give yourself plenty of time to get toyour next winery...at least 2.5 hrs later! Sooooo good. Read more
