My wedding party of 10 was looking for a last minute dinner the night before the wedding. Century House accommodated us... perfectly on short notice. This place boarders on excellence and high class, but just falls short. The meal was mostly exquisite. The broccoli had... flowered so it was a tad bitter and there were no spices or butter on it. The salmon was nicely broiled. Warm but notburnt. There were nice water glasses and cloth napkins. They started us with tasty rolls. But when the butter and sour creme(for my potato) came out, it was little packets of butter and the sour cream cans in a small, round container and hadseparated. Best dinner out we?ve had in a long time. My wife and I both had the famous prime rib. It was cooked perfect and the sides were... amazing as well. The service was exceptional and quick, even with a packed house on a Friday night. We will definitely come backwhen we are in the area! Read more
My family and I visited here from IL and were so looking forward to our dinner here ? it didn?t disappoint. When we arrived for... our reservation, the table already had waters ready for all of us. I had one of the specials, Lobster Ravioli, and it was simplyamazing. My husband had the Baked Shrimp and the shrimp were HUGE baked in an amazing cracker crumble. Great clam chowder, andthe drinks were well-priced, too. The best part? Our waitress, Susan. She was so enthusiastic, kept our drinks and rollsrefilled, and was just a joy to speak with. Lunch was very good today with a swordfish kabob special. I substituted the rice for a potatoe with an upcharge of $2. Not... sure why so much, but okay. The fish was great! Salad was fresh and loved the mustard dressing. Also like the warmatmosphere. Susan did a great job handling my orde and everyone's food. Read more
PROS: This place was amazing for Thanksgiving. They honored our reservations and were one of the few places open. They had good... quality food and a special holiday menu. The staff was very nice to us and they even had a full bar for those who want to watchsports CONS: The bathroom was very very small which caused a line up OVERALL: I 100% would recommend coming here forthanksgiving or any holiday. My son took me to Century House for lunch today and it was awesome as usual! Our waiter Justin was awesome, very attentive... and our meals arrived pretty quick. I got the Chicken Marcella with a salad & it is was delicious. I even ate two rolls. Myson got the regular cut Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and zucchini & Summer squash and he loved it! There was so much food weboth brought home left overs. I have plenty of my Chicken Marcella leftovers for both my youngest & I for supper! I don't believe in trashing establishments so here's my review for take out for Thanksgiving which I am sure is a thankless job... for Century House. I have been a customer as has my family for years. Always loved the food and people who work there. Today wasjust one of those days I guess nothing went right. Ordered only 2 meals, Turkey Special Meal and Haddock Special Meal. When Igot home I realized unfortunately I never received Haddock Meal. Called restaurant, they were very nice, was going to come backand pick it up but just decided not to and asked for a credit on my credit card. They said no problem. I haven't seen it off mycard, maybe it takes a few days, not sure. Took me 4 tries to order food on line, they were having problems I guess with thesystem periodically. A sweet woman put my order in for me and I was so thankful. Just a crazy day for this to happen but Iunderstand things can happen at the worst time.
