I have gone there 3 times now and all but once was disappointing. I was really excited to try this place after the hype I've... heard but now have been really disappointed and I will be sharing my experiences with others. One time I ordered a muffin and aiced drink, decaf. They gave me a hot drink and caffeinated. This last time I ordered the white Christmas latte. It lookednothing like they pictured on social media. The girls were also very rude even after I said thank you and didn't wanna make abig deal about my order being wrong today. We also stood at the counter waiting to order for a good 10 minutes before anybodyeven acknowledged us. They did see us standing at the counter prior and never said "we will be right there" or anything toassure we would be taking care of soon. My son had a game and I was late to it for this reason. This is such a quaint coffee shop. Love the atmosphere and the coffee is amazing. Haven't had any food items yet, but each... item I've seen someone order has looked good. Definitely recommend! Read more
The only thing I can say that needs work is sometimes the Java Freeze isn't blended enough but I know it can be hard to decide... to blend it more and over blend or not. Other than that the staff is amazing. All the girls are so polite and friendly. Thedrinks taste amazing. Anyone I talk to that goes there has nothing but great things to say. Also Charla "sorry if I spelled itwrong" is the sweetest woman. She is the manager and when I had an error with my account she fixed it fast. She communicatedwith me about the fix and told me to save her number in case we have any future issues. 100% support local. I love this placeand so to my kiddos. We are actually heading there now before they go to school since they love their smooties. Which I order alarge and ask them to split it since my kids won't both drink a small. Their food and coffee is always ???? perfect. Staff is generally very pleasant. I know they haven't been opened very long but... just want to give some tips... communication is very important between you and your fellow staff and also your customers, andjust remember to keep smiling ????. With Leaves ?n Beans, it wasn?t a huge surprise to see they opened yet another location, thistime in Pekin. Personally, I have found Pekin to be lacking good coffeehouses so it was a pleasant surprise to see them get aPeoria-based legend. This location opened in April 2021 and I wasted no time in checking it out. Maria and I popped in on asunny and extremely hot Saturday afternoon. I was surprised to see the place empty. I figured with the weather finally playingnice, this place would be busy with kids getting sugary drinks, some end-of-semester college students cramming in for finals(unless they already took them), and people just out and about. Nope. Maria and I had the place to ourselves for the later partof the afternoon. There was the occasional person stopping in and their drive-thru had a few visitors. The staff was superfriendly in taking my order and they even brought my order out to me after telling me to pick it up at the end? I ended upwandering from the ?pick up? area to look at the art on the opposite wall while I waited. My drink of choice wasn?t a bitterblack coffee like I?ve been ordering lately. With the weather being generally awful as of late, I needed something to perk me upand I picked the ?Sugar Daddy? to do just that. This is the first time I ordered this at a Leaves ?n Beans and it was prettygood. I don?t remember what makes up the ?Sugar Daddy? besides it being a latte. Maybe it was caramel and? hazelnut? Came back to try this place today after it reopened on the weekends again. I'm not sure what is going on at this place. We... arrived and ordered at 9:15am. We also wanted to use a coupon that had been sent to us as a "come back and try us special". Thegirl working the register couldn't find the spot to enter the code and neither could the other person behind the counter.Instead of waiting we just told her to forget about it and we'd use it another day. We had an iced Americano, two cold brews,two sandwiches and a veggie quesadilla. We sat with our party and waited for our order. Our party started to get their drinksabout 20m after their order and then the food was a good 30-40m after they ordered. In total we waited an hour for our coffeeand food. One of the drinks on the ticket did not arrive and when I went to the counter they had no idea that we were waiting onanother drink and the ticket must have been "tossed". I must say I don't quite understand what would take an hour with ourorder. Even one of the girls behind the counter who came in for a shift mentioned the long wait time. The food was okay, andhot. Drinks were tasty, but waiting an hour for coffee and a breakfast sandwich just makes no logical sense. I think the staffneeds to be trained to work ahead/on multiple tickets at once. Definitely seems like every time I've been here they are workingon one drink on one ticket at a time. I wanted to like this place as it is a local business but the service quality is reallysub par and it doesn't seem like the extended training did much to cause the store to run more efficiently.
