First time I had visited this restaurant in Pekin. They seem to be a local favorite and have made it through this covid virus... issue. Good to see small businesses like this survive. It's a down to earth restaurant and if you are looking for fancy and youturn your nose up at common you wouldn't be happy, but I was as happy as a lark! Their salad bar is small, but they make theirown mac & cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw. They also make their own cinnamon rolls. All you can eat salad bar and soup for$6.99. I ordered the small hand made tenderloin sandwich and homemade fries. Best tenderloin I've ever eaten! The breading wasdevine and the meat succulent. They pound out the tenderloins themselves. I could hear someone doing this in the back while Iwas eating. They were pretty busy with pickup orders and a steady flow of inside dinning customers. Everyone was wearing masks.There is more room inside than what it looks like from outside. They have two dinning rooms. The guy that was seated at a tableclose to me with his wife looked like Gabby Hayes to me. This is meant as a compliment. All in all I was very pleased and Ishall return God willing. Also of note is that they had slices of various pies for only a buck. What a deal. Give them a try ifyou want to bump elbows with the common guy and gal. Went here for breakfast got the kitchen sink skillet was pretty good but was very disappointed that there was not gravy included... and had to pay extra considering the skillet is $10 and supposed to have everything. Overall service and food were good. Read more
I had the chicken tenderloin horseshoe. It was amazing! Topped will a nice portion of French fries with cheese. Delicious. I... recommend this place to anyone for an anytime meal. I must say I also sampled their homemade chilli and vegetable soup.Delicious. Read more
Wow! Great fried chicken! The coating was so crispy and light. I'm craving it again! Update: We went back 3 days later and... found out the chicken was the special for the day. The first time we were there, I saw the sign about appetizer specials, sothis time, we decided to try the "sampler.". I should have listened when the wonderful waitress asked if we just wanted thechicken ala-carte, but I told her, " No, we'll take it all!". Lol. Check out the size of that sampler! I wish I'd taken apicture with our hand in it so you could see exactly how HUGE that thing was! Lol. Needless to say, our whole chicken dinnerwent into to-go containers because we couldn't resist all those fried goodies. The chicken had to come home with us, where Ihope it will be half as good as it would have been had we eaten it fresh! (Which is ten times better than I could EVER make athome!) Do yourself a favor and try out this little "Diamond in the Rough" place. By the way, the "regulars who were in thereboth times we went, made sure to tell us to try the tenderloin and the meatloaf. This place is amazing! Fresh yummy food including daily made desserts, rolls and pies. All the servers were so nice and knew... everyone by name. It's a small town feel and we will be back soon. Read more

Been wanting to try this place for the longest and was very disappointed we ordered a meatloaf dinner and jumbo tenderloin with... fries now they threw the plate with meatloaf and potatoes in the microwave to heat up the gravy so basically heated up coldgravy on top of hot food who does that tenderloin was dry and I never received my fries and all that why the waitress that tookcare of us disappeared not too good for a first experience Read more
