I went three times in row and never was disappointed. I like how menu will look different depending on the day which is nice,... you don?t know what you might get which is good because you get try something different each time. The stuff where nice andfriendly. The sour dough bread and jam for branch was delicious. Read more

We took our 2 friends to have dinner in this restaurant. Chef's Menu (4 or 5 courses) was chosen for all of us plus 2 bottles of... Wine. The taste of the meal was average, but we could see that chef try to be creative for the presentation. However, theservice was so disappointing. When we required to change the plate, the waitress refused to do so and mentioned that next coursewill be the same flavor base. After the second course, the plates were changed. But she insisted again we keep our cutleries.The total bill is not cheap for what it was (CAD 411.60). But 18% tip was recommended. Seriously? Yes, waitress was friendlyenough, but so lazy that she did not want or just refuse to change the plate and cutleries. Plus, it was not busy as all, wewere the only table inside, plus a table of 2 guests outside. But waitress and chef spent so much time to chat with those 2guests (probably their friends), that we had to wait for our dishes between the courses while the restaurant was empty. Go for the very interesting flavours and textures as a restaurant like this is a very rare breed even by Vancouver standards!

If you?re expecting good portions this is not the place. $13 for 2 waffles. $4 for small potato. $17 for 2 eggs on 1 piece of... toast. Very disappointed in the cost for the portions. Do not recommend ordering takeout from here. Read more

I?ve been a regular diner for almost a year now. I?m always a fan of what comes out and, compared to similar restaurants... off-island, it?s always a very reasonable price. Everything is made with local ingredients and prepared skillfully. The serviceis always top notch and friendly. Though their menu cycles often, two dishes I?ve had that stood out was a pasta dish servedwith hot grapes (trust me it was to die for) and most recently the beef tar tar. The food is paired with brilliant and expertlymade cocktails, a couple of personal favorites are the Black Forest and their new tequila milk punch. The sbagliato cocktail andkrapfen donuts are stand outs on the brunch menu. My only complaint is that I can?t find the time to go there more often. Read more

My wife and I went to Mayne Island for an overnight trip, we had dinner the night we arrived and breakfast here! We loved... everything we ordered for dinner and ended up ordering everything on the breakfast menu the next day. I highly recommendchecking out Das Nest, it?s so nice that they highlight all their local growers and providers, and have a respect for the landand the community their in. It?s welcoming and intimate, has a downtown city level of ambiance nestled in a quiet little town.Highly recommend going there. Also, the clarified take on a Margarita cocktail was awesome! Inventive farm to table dishes. We had the sourdough bread and kohlrabi salad to start, then pasta and the ling cod head.... Everything was excellent, good portion sizes, and very tasty. We had very attentive and knowledgeable service and thoroughlyenjoyed our evening. Visitors to Mayne and locals are missing out if they haven?t visited this restaurant. Read more

Wife And I stumbled a cross this place and absolutely loved it! They had accommodated us with a space for us and our pup... outside. The service was impeccable! The Incredibly friendly waitress (and owner) went above and beyond to describe their uniquemeals and help us choose something new and delicious to try!
