Love the breakfast at Captain Kens. However recently went out for dinner there. Waited a long time for food. It was not the... waitress or cooks fault. There was only the 2 of them working for a fair amount of customers. Is what it is. I ordered a coke acola with my dinner and received a can of pop. Thought that was strange and when I asked for a refill they said its another$2.50 for each can of pop. Every other restaurant I have been in for a sit down has fountain pop and or free refills on it. Iwont be going back for lunch or dinner for this reason. If I drink 3 pop there's almost another $10 added to my meal. Might aswell go somewhere else that has free refills and spend the $10 i saved towards an appetizer. Read more

We dine in at Captain's after a visit at Discovery Harbor. Kids menu was OK and the food arrived fast (which is important). The... rest of our meals were mediocre and plain. The service was very nice. Read more

We had a family lunch at Ken's. The service was fast and kind. The food was mediocre though. The kids menu (chicken fingers and... fries) were OK but the roast biff was tasteless and the salat was plain. Read more

We both order the one piece halibut and chips - came with roll and cole slaw. When the waitress brought our order both plates... had 2 pieces of fish. We told her we had only ordered singles and they said they were small pieces. We took home 2 pieces offish and half of one order of fries and the rolls. Very generous portions. Fish was just as good or better the followingevening. Read more
My wife and older son went to Captain Ken's on Tues. Aug.2/2022. We each had the fish and chips (Cod & Halibut) and a draft... beer. We anticipated the food would be excellent from recommendations from friends. We weren't disappointed. The portions werelarge, my wife took half of hers home. You can have your fish pan fried or batter. We all decided on batter. It's just like thequality we enjoy in the UK. You can watch it being freshly put together in the open kitchen. It was a sports bar typeatmosphere. We arrived around 4;30pm and were served right away by a friendly waitress. There is a wide range of food dishesto decide on. The people beside us enjoyed the Schnitzel, but we were really looking forward to a place with English style freshfish and chips. Again, great food, nice place to dine out. Read more
We came here as a family, 2 kids and infant. They didn't have anything for the kids to colour on. We weren't expecting it but... it would have been nice to distract the kids. The food was okay, pretty standard. Wide range of options however there's no waythat everything is fresh. I had halibut and chips, my partner had club sandwich. The tomato in his club sandwich had gonebad. Maybe a smaller menu might help. Open it up a bit change the lighting to warm instead of cold. I think this restaurant hasa lot of potential as a go to spot. Great wait staff very friendly. Read more

Stopped in to grab some takeout on the way home from work. Everything was ready and well packaged by the time they estimated.... Large portions and well prepared. Reasonable prices made for a great spot to bring home a meal for the family. Noticed therestaurant was very well setup for dine in, will have to try that next time. ???? Read more

I read some of the reviews before eating here. I must say the food was great. Even though they were getting slammed from a large... party and had a small crew to service every one. The food was served to us earlier than expected,it was hot crispy and tasty.Large portions. Two types of cheese on the poutine and loads of gravy. You could also tell they keep the deep fryers clean asthe fries and fish batter was a very light golden brown. Will definitely return and recommend. Great job to the staff. Read more
