1st time coming to this place! I was so amazed by the atmosphere and the view! There isn't much for a vegetarian to eat, but I... was very happy with my salad. Definitely would be a perfect date place. The view on a perfect day with some drinks would justbe the right thing. I would recommend this place if you want something different. Read more

Since I had to move away from my hometown, this place has popped up. It's a great large building that has many rooms. A whole... room that's a bar, a whole room that has good seating for the stage that they have live music on, and two whole rooms worth ofnormal tables and booths. That's all on top of the massive yard they have with more bar stuff outside and huge yard games andcomfortable chairs and a beautiful view of Pensacola Bay. When I would come into town a few times a year, I would normally goto a very popular restaurant in town. You know which one I mean. But the decline in quality and assortment of menu items, alongwith the fact that that place doesn't take reservations, so I've slowly transitioned to now coming here every time I come intotown. So I've been here three times now, with parties of 10+, no problems making reservations, and I've spent a lot of time intheir bar yard before and after the reservation. It's a lot of fun. Anyway, the service has always been good, and the food hashad no mistakes. All particularly impressive three times in a row with 10+ people at a table. I don't see a menu on theirwebsite, so I can't give you exact food item descriptions, but I can say that their fish 'n' chips are the best fish 'n' chips Ihave ever had in the United States. The chips are cut in such a way that give them such a great crisp and crunch and oh mygoodness, you have to try them. The fish itself is good. A nice, thin, crisp batter. Moist cod within. The fried shrimp isgood. I would skip the Shepard's pie. And all the apps are good. Buy several and share with the table. Especially the giantpretzel. Overall, I'm so glad that I found this place. Clearly the large outdoor lawn and patio dining are perfect at sunset overlooking the bay. We love this place both for the... ambience, and the food that rarely misses. Burgers, sandwiches, specialty salads, crabcakes, daily fish, all beautifullyprepared. The blood orange brownie served warm with ice cream is a draw all by itself. Peel and eat shrimp are always fresh, andthey do these sidewinder French fries that come with a dipping sauce that my husband and I refer to as gastronomic crack it's sogood. The only thing I cannot recommend are the cheese curds, rubber dipped in batter basically, but then why do cheese curdseven exist to start with? Obviously not a fan. We loved Calvert's on Sunday after church! We ordered the French Dip and BLT sandwiches; we shared our meal to get to taste... both. Yummy! We got side salads rather than fries and was surprised by the big portion. We enjoyed the beautiful view ofPensacola Bay and made plans to enjoy a meal outside under one of the many umbrella tables when the weather is cooler! Thewaitress was very friendly, fast, and efficient! We had a lovely time at Calvert's and are looking forward to many more! Read more
