My buddy Darryl stopped by for lunch today and we were happy we did. We both got a buy 3 special and only cost us individually... $12.20 including tax. I had a large cheeseburger of sorts with the most delicious home cut fries, bowl of chicken tortilla soupthat was super good and my drink. All for 12 bucks and change. Darryl had the burger and fries, but had the tortilla chips and ahuge bowl of salsa. The chips were warm and enough to feed both of us with some left over. I had coffee to drink, but it wasn'thot to my expectations, but why whine. The soda machine was broken down so Darryl ordered a blackberry iced tea and he hated it.Wouldn't have made any difference if the soda machine was working, since they serve Coke products and Darryl only likes MountainDew, a Pepsi product. Haven't been to a Chili's in some time. When I arrived the place was really busy, but I was able to find a seat at the bar. The... bartender was MIA for a good bit, but I was patient as thus is just how it is today. Eventually I was greeted with a friendlysmile and I asked for an Oktoberfest. I was told it was out, no bother, I'll have something else. The bartender was very niceand quick to get my order. I ordered the honey Chipotle crispers, that comes with corn and fries. I ordered an extra side ofColeslaw. My food arrived minus the fries. Before I was able to say anything the bartender jumped right in and requested fries.No bother, fries came out very quickly. Upon first look, my coleslaw looked chunky, like frozen, I grabbed a bit with my fork,yup, still frozen, and appears they just tried to chop the chunks apart. The crispers appeared to be mini chunks of tenders, notlike I remember they used to be, this may just be the way they are now. Not sure. Crispers were barely warm and unappealing, butthe taste was as I remembered. The corn was as if it were heated and reheated and then heated 5 more times, it was mushy andvery watery, I've never had sweetcorn so watery...not juicy as in delicious sweet corn, but watery, as in the kernels had mushedand absorbed water from a pot...the fries were perfect. It was a fun day to watch some college football for my wife, and for me it was tasty appetizers, ice cold smooth cocktails with... prompt service and the best part...a chill ???? atmosphere to spend a great "date night" with my wife of over thirty years. Good food like always, nice atmosphere also. One tiny mistake where they gave me both the original side and the one I wanted... substituted. But the cook brought out the food, and when I asked she apologized right away. But all was ok. Slightly slowservice at the door to be seated, but not bad. Looks like we had arrived at shift change. This was the worst! We ordered the chicken fajitas. They said they'd be ready in 30 minutes 1 hr later we got the to go order.... Get home and there were no condiments. No sour cream, cheese, Pico, salsa. The beans were cold well everything was cold. Thetortillas were the only hot thing. The side salad had almost no lettuce and the dressing was like water no flavor. Had a great time! It was super busy so we took seats at the bar and got great service immediately. Food was hot and delicious... and we always had a drink refilled. We had bottomless chips and salsa, a chicken tenders meal with fries and corn on the cob.Not pictured was a huge juicy hamburger with fries. Dessert was a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on it. I hadn't ate at Chili's in years stopped in with my sister who's visiting from out of town. we were very disappointed with the... food,the ranch dressing is watered down, the butter was oily, broccoli was wimpy no crunch. CHICKEN was okay... Our server waspolite and courteous it doesn't make up for the food quality I feel they've gone downhill. Read more
Let's start with a non-motivated hostess. All food was warm, not hot. Southwest egg rolls probably premade and held in... warmer. Dry on the outside, but way to fatty and salty burger. Southwest chicken bowl was ok but needs 10 times the lettuce(probably had the equivalent of one leaf). Fries have nasty flavor, as always. Time for thus chain to be buried, as it diedyears ago.
