Wow, passing thru, read the nice reviews and wanted to try this place, sorely disappointed with the food, maybe I just didn't... order the right dish. I'm from the south and this can't compare. All I know is that after one lunch here this is going to be a place I come back to for the rest of my life despite it being a... 2-hour drive for me. I am vegan and have never really experienced a Mexican restaurant that gives you that traditional feelwhile still having plenty of non-traditional options to eat. Rightfully so as well since I know many locations and recipes useanimal products and their beans and rice - And that's how they've done it for a long time! I was so pleasantly surprised whenlooking at restaurants in the area to stumble across Cocina de Carlos. We went on a Friday afternoon and we're set immediately.I ordered the vegano combo and it was incredible. The beans and rice were probably the best I've ever had at any restaurant.The avocado was fresh, the vegan queso was out of this world, the salsa and chips that come for free before your meal were evenbetter. After two margaritas and a plate full of INCREDIBLE food, I left a very happy woman. Read more

Nice pleasant restaurant, decor and atmosphere. So started with salsa and chips which was good. I order a La carte, 2 street... tacos (pork carnitas, chorizo) and a shredded beef enchilada. Tacos was great and the enchilada was good but I did fine itsmaller than other restaurants. The beans tasted good and the rice was just slightly bland. Place wasn?t busy and waited toolong just for a refill. I would still recommend this Mexican restaurant. Read more

Went here last night. Kathy, our server, was phenomenal. The food was pretty decent. Margarita?s were good. Guacamole was... decent. Chips and salsa was just ok until we asked for the spicy salsa. Hubby ordered fajita which was hearty and according tohim ?the best he?s ever had?. I ordered chicken tacos which were served with beans and rice that I really, really enjoyed.Prices were right. One of our favorite Mexican restaurants so far. Some of the best food we had had in a long time. Full of flavor, all around... greatness. Their margaritas were amazing. Every time I am in the Perrysburg area, I need to eat here. I?ve tried the chimichanga, the enchiladas, the burritos? it all... delivers. The service is great, and the food is delicious. The drink selection is good too, and of course the margaritas aregood. I just left and am already looking forward to coming back. Read more
