Haven?t been to a Big Boy since I was a kid. We were in town to stay at Belamere Suites for my husband?s birthday and decided to... stop on the way back home. We were a little apprehensive when we were told there were only three people working the entirerestaurant and one was the cook. To our surprise the service was impeccable! Lisah (inside joke) was extremely pleasant and didnot show any signs of stress from being short staffed and having to run from table to table. She was super sweet! Had she notmentioned it I would have never thought there was a staffing issue that day. The food was timely and tasty. Lisah even ran outto our car when she noticed my husband left his favorite baseball cap at our table! Kudos to Lisah Tracy and Steve. You ROCK!!! Read more
Well worth the trip to an old childhood favorite! This was such a nostalgic visit for me! When I lived in the land of... Big-Boy-Nativity, ie MI, we went to BB alot. (LOVE THEIR BREAKAST BAR AND WAFFLES!) But since I moved south over 2 decades agowe stopped going. Anyways, I took my 15 year old Big Boy to Big Boy today and had a banger of a lunch! I had to get the fishsandwich. It came with 2 sides. I got the fries and Cole slaw. The fish was deep fried to a golden brown...it was screaminghot...AND DELICIOUS! The filets were white and flakey. The batter was crunchy and salty. The slaw paired perfectly as a cold,sweet contrast. My son got the chicken breast, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was grilled toperfection and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were delicious. However, the Mac and cheese was pretty chinsy. We finished ourmeal off by sharing a hot fudge cake ice cream dessert....YUMMO!!! The facilities are dated but clean and well kept. Theservers are friendly and prompt. Just get there! Read more
