Reviews for The Brickhouse Run in Petersburg, VA
Edit: The food I've had is tasty but the serving sizes are inconsistent and menu changes frequently. The burgers and fries are... excellent but the fish and chips is more like chips and pees with a side of fish Read more
My wife and I had an amazing experience at The Brickhouse Run tonight. I had been wanting to give a try for quite some time and... I'm glad we finally went. Outward appearances seemed on track with the traditional British pub that The Brickhouse Run ismodeled after. When you enter, that vibe carries throughout the interior as well. It's not a huge restaurant, as you'd expectfrom the Old Towne Petersburg historic buildings. Half of the restaurant area is dedicated to the pub/bar and the other half forthe dining room. Hostess and waitstaff were very friendly and attentive during our entire experience. The menu had plentychoose from with traditional British pub food like Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, etc. as well as interesting seasonal farelike Duck a l'orange and Acorn Squash with optional protein add-ons. We started with the Sweet Potato Perogies which wereessentially a savory sweet potato and cheese "mini pie", less like traditional perogies but definitely tasty. I then electedfor the Duck a l'orange while my wife chose the Petersburger. I tried a bite of her burger which featured a the typical lettuce, cheddar, and bacon but also a unique onion jam and pub sauce that really set it apart. It was delicious. My Duck a l'orange wasperfectly cooked and amazingly tender and surrounded by a great sweet potato puree and a delectable helping of Brusselssprouts. The experience was really amazing. If there were anything worth acknowledging as a downfall, it would have to be thatthe dining room was chilly. We ultimately chalked that up to the older building though. All in all, great date night spot andwe'll certainly be back. Read more

Had dinner here on trip to SC from PA, based on Google reviews. Great experience, so we made sure to go there again on way back... home. Many locals, but we were treated like family. Food is great, including specials and regular menu. Desserts areextraordinary. Amy at the bar is the best, a joy to be around and it's amazing to watch her work. Read more

Excellent food & atmosphere, good service and drink selection. Had a great dinner, at one point my partner joked that Soma... must be in the kitchen with all these seasonal ingredients or together so creatively, the butternut squash carpacio inspiredthat comment I think. The steak was like butter, the fresh herbs were amazing, the rockfish was perfect. Excellent mealoverall. The only thing we weren't a fan of was the smores bread pudding, I love bread pudding so that was a bit disappointingbut otherwise the meal was excellent. (They also kindly offered to switch it with another dessert but we declined.) Read more
Shepard's pie is a must and so was the fish and chips. For a unique twist, ask for the fries poutine. While it seemed like a... weird recommendation from the waitress, it didn't disappoint. I would definitely order both meals again Read more
