Had a perfect fall day for happy hour on the front patio. Fantastic beverages and appetizers. My wife loved the devil eggs and... the bruschetta was my favorite. Sam our server provided excellent service and we can’t wait to go back and dine inside withthe huge windows facing the bay. Definitely a hidden gem. Read more

NOTHING SPECIAL. Decent plating but food was almost tasteless. Food took hella long, and room didn’t even look busy. Duck was... very tough to chew and bite! and nothing close to crispy skin (as the server had described). I also don’t know why they wouldserve HARD carrots. Steak was dry oh my! and tough. Fine dining ambiance but very Disappointing food for it’s price. Will notbe back soon. Hope this review helps you and the restaurant be better if they want to. Best of luck! *** the replier to thereviews is disgustingly rude! Thinks that he/she is a genius. If you can’t take an honest feedback then good luck with yourbusiness. Talking bonkers about some well done steak? We literally ordered it medium well(as you can see in the picture) so Idkwhat he/she’s going off about on the reply trying to justify their steak.tf Read more

Wonderful dinner! I arrived, tired and hungry, after a long drive. The kitchen essentially was closed. No problem. Manager Peter... made sure there was a wonderful entree (snapper, perfectly prepared). Server Autumn quickly and efficiently brought me a beetsalad and a nice glass of wine. Add to that a great view of the bay … am I in San Francisco? A dinner which exceededexpectations. We will return! Read more

Great location of the view for the lighthouse. The service was good. Food is okay, and we were expected more for what we paid... for. The replier of the review is extremely rude. The black grouper is fishy but eatable. The couscous/ancient grain in theblack grouper was undercooked and hard to chew. They claimed it should be this way, but for customers you better let them knowthe unexpectations before hand. The smoked pork chop turned out to be a thick "ham". The presentation of the dish is goodthough, but it is not the regular pork chop you would expect in a fancy restaurant. The price should be marked as $$$ since theaverage dish price is $30+. Super crowded and noisy during our visit. They put too many customers in this tiny restaurant, whichis within the max legit limit, but you could image the atmosphere of clearly hearing your neighboring customers within 2 feet.Customers paid for the food, service and atmosphere, not just for the location as the property. The sunset was beautiful, butthe beams are strong and bothering on customers when you try to eat. They didn't put the shade down, which would be easilysolved. Hope this review helps the restaurant being better if they want to. Read more

Staff was super friendly. We went for lunch in the off season and got the best table in the corner with a view of the bay.... Service was great. Food was delicious. Will go back. Read more

Delicious food and speedy service. It was pretty clear that the staff are built for speed. Our waiter and the other staff were... attentive and quick. The only reason that I removed a star is because our waiter, while attentive, didn't always stick aroundlong enough to get an answer to the questions he asked (e.g. how was the appetizer?). The drinks came out quickly and the foodfollowed without a gap. Our elapsed time on a Saturday evening was about one hour, which is quick but we didn't feelrushed. Now, about the food/drinks. I had the Maple Manhattan. The maple was there, but you had to search for it. A bit on thesweet side, but plenty strong and quite enjoyable. Next, we had the Brussel/squash appetizer. It was delicious! Maybe the bestthing we had! The bacon and warm spices were very tasty, but more importantly the veggies were cooked perfectly. Not crunchy, but still firm. There were two of us. My wife had the Mahi Mahi and she loved it. The coconut and ginger really enhanced theflavor of the fish without overwhelming it. I had the pot roast. It was perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes had plenty ofdairy goodness in them and the gravy was right on the money -- not overly salty, but packing plenty of umami flavor. Once again, the veggies were cooked perfectly! They may change them out, depending on the time of year, but we had broccolini and someversion of cauliflower, which I would call "caulifowerini" as it was thin and delicate with green stalks like the broccolini, but with white flowers. Both unexpected and tasty. We'll be back! Read more

My husband and I had dinner at Beacon Bistro on a Monday night and it was amazing! Peter, our waiter, was very knowledgeable,... professional, and fun. We took his recommendations on dinner and dessert and were far from disappointed! We ordered thebutternut squash soup, smoked whitefish spread, veal ossobuco, mustard crusted salmon, and limoncello cake for dessert. All ofthe food was extraordinary and the limoncello cake blew us away! The restaurant had a very cozy setting and great lighting withfloor to ceiling windows facing Little Traverse Bay in the back. We will definitely back and recommend this restaurant toanyone. Read more
