Oxtails not browned. Looked like stew chicken. Rice hard and drowned with stew gravy. Cabbage greasy and don?t taste steamed.... I?m a truck driver and I?m Philly a lot. I usually eat at ISLAND TASTE. HOWEVER most restaurants are closed on Sundays. This wasthe worst dish and they definitely disrespect my culture. Triflingly nasty. Jerk sauce tasted like a spiked BBQ sauce. Why was Mac and Cheese, Cabbage, rice, plantains and my chicken all mixed into one... small platter?? NO! I have had my share of Jamaican food and this was by far the WORST! WE ordered the oxtails which was extremely SALTY and the... seasoning was something reminiscent of goat! The rice and peas were drenched in their disgusting oxtail sauce!..so very salty aswell! And I can honestly say their cabbage was good and I usually don't like cabbage. Their beef patties were poor, lacking meatand sadly deflated when we received them. The frozen beef patties from the supermarket are definitely tastier. So would I eathere again? Nope! I'm good. I just received my order 20 minutes ago via uber eats......The Mac n cheese didn?t have a drop of cheese, instead it appeared to... be covered in jerk sauce. The jerk chicken was just 4 small chunks of a cut up chicken. And the rice has chicken bones in everyspoonful. I will Stick to Ron?s or Jamaican D?s even tho they cost more, it?s actually worth the money unlike this place. Read more
