For years as I traversed Broad St....I've wondered whether Crab Du Jour was worth exploring. Today, a service visit at a... nearby Pep Boys gave me an opportunity of trial. Restaurant decorum is amazing, menu pricing $$....bartenders are withoutexception AMAZING, polite, engaging...and dare I say..competent????. But whole facade / mirage falls away afterordering...."slimy, dripping" Fried Oyster Basket gave me a HEALTH scare. If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered something simple for lunch. I ordered a Caesar Salad and Clam Chowder. The Caesar... Salad tasted like something that’s already packaged in containers that you can buy at the supermarket, not fresh at all andthe clam chowder was horrible. Clam chowder was cold with uncooked chopped green bell peppers and onions in it. Maybe theirseafood boils good but after that experience, I won’t be going back. This place was great and shrimply amazing. The shrimps was huge! The biggest mussels I've seen. The crab was cooked to... perfection, where each piece slid out in 1 piece. Chef-kiss for sure. The special was enough for 2 people to split. I had to geta side of rice because I'm Asian and that's what we do. Don't waste any space for sodas or drinks. Get there hungry and leavesatisfied full of tasty crustaceans. We got the Du jour sauce in medium spice. Please generously tip these hard working folksmaking us this delicious experience. Also please be patient. I saw a lot of people tryin to holler and get the serversattention. Oh and if you're goin to The Met, this place is an AFTERS spot, not before. The best seafood deluxe i ever had, so fresh and so delicious. The family deluxe is the best choice for 4 persons, all worth it... and cajun sauce was so good with it. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Very clean - even saw the bartender cleaning water spots off glassware in her free time.... Super friendly service. Will definitely come back. Service is a little slow, but only because it was a busy night and they wereunderstaffed. Read more
I only received one of three meals I ordered and the restaurant tried to blame Uber eats, neither of which is taking... responsibility for the missing items which equaled more than half of what was ordered. Will not be patronizing them again. Theytook our money and had no remorse. Read more
