We were excited to try the steak during our first time at Del Frisco’s. There was a group of 8 of us and the bill came to... $1,300. We had a good bottle of wine from their vast selection and the cheese steak dumplings were interesting. The calamari waschewy, dry on the edges, and fishy smelling. Now for our entree- we ordered the Tomahawk for Two at $152, what a terribledisappointment. Instead of a nice 32 ounce intact steak like they picture on their website, we received a platter of fatty,sinewy slices of something resembling steak. Eating this steak, most of what I did attempt to chew and chew was spit into mynapkin afterwards. This dinner comes with two sides. The lobster mac and cheese was disappointing, dried out, over salted andfishy tasting and not creamy and fresh like you would expect from an upscale restaurant. The twice baked potatoes were tasty butrunny. Another steak costing over $60 that was ordered at our table was tough, sinewy and grisly and our friend threw more thana 1/3 of it away as he couldn’t keep chewing and spitting it out. We never expected a lack of quality at this level of diningand pricing. You shouldn’t leave a restaurant after spending that much money wishing you had ordered something different orgone somewhere else. On a positive note, our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. Attended as part of an award luncheon. Downtown Philly is beautiful! Plan parking ahead and wear walkable shoes. A little tough... to find as they have two restaurants at least nearby to each other. If you don’t visit regularly you want to follow drivingdirections carefully. The ambiance was nice. The staff was super nice and helpful as I was a vegan at a steakhouse. They neverbatted an eye and provided me with a tasty alternative. The program was excellent. The only downside was that there was someconstruction going on in another area. It didn’t seem as though they thought to provide some sort of sound barrier. So thesaws and drills were constantly interrupting the speakers. That should’ve been prevented. I planned for my husband's bithday for months and Del Frisco's was recommended to me by a friend. This was our first time here... and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Joe, our server, was very attentive and informative. He understood the assignment! Themeal was delicious and the bread was addictive! And to top it off, the strawberry Cheesecake was smooth and rich. Packs a heavy price tag that being said perfection and excellence is expected. This was certainly a 4 star experience. Great... service but our waiter barely showed up and felt as though he was reluctant to provide the extras like butter and bread. Otherwaiters that showed up in between were amazing and made up for that. Our lobster Mac and cheese had some hard bits in it and Irequested 'medium well' slight pink on my porter house steak but definitively got a medium a little too bloody for me. Food tookalmost an hour to arrive but they were super busy. Even with all that the flavor was great. I will definitely return. The foodis delicious but don't feel it's worth the hefty price tag though. We spent over 200 on what is pictured here. We were a partyof 2. I had the porter house and my girl had the file mignon.
