Blink and you?ll miss the front of Elwood- it fits right into its surrounding neighborhood. The inside itself is a renovated... townhome that?s been converted into a cozy dining space. We were walk-ins and completely underdressed (the owner didn?t seem tocare but everyone else was in business casual). They started out with an amuse-bouche of venison scrapple, which was a great wayto start out. Delicious. The pierogis are a can?t miss, and the potato rolls are excellent. Our main course was the braisedbeef, which was perfectly cooked, as were the veggies that came with it. We also really enjoyed the assortment of pickledvegetables that came with it, and the apple butter was very tasty. For dessert we ordered local herbal tea and a cheesecake tartthat was the perfect ending (there were also cookies that showed up, and my other half said they were perfect). We were servedby the owner (and at one point, his sous-chef), and they were a very charming group. All in all, a wonderful dining experience. We?ll be back! Read more

Elwood is incredible. An amazing dining experience, and the owner is so knowledgeable about his food, and it?s history. A small... menu, but everything we ordered felt unique and special. We had three appetizers, and the rabbit for two entree. From what Igather, most if not all of the food comes from local farms and providers, and you can really taste the difference. I can?t gushabout this place enough. If you?re in the area, I highly recommend checking it out. Also, the music felt like it was from mypersonal playlist, and the ambiance suits the menu perfectly. First time visiting Philly and was looking for a place to eat for Thanksgiving. Randomly found this spot and boy was I... pleasantly surprised. From the moment I called I was greeted by the owner/chef. Had a pleasant conversation and made myreservation. The restaurant is warm, inviting, and elegant. The food equally good. Great job and thanks for having me! Read more

From Plate to Plate we were amazed by the flavor and care put into every bite. The owner/chef Adam was super connected to the... experience which made it even more pleasurable and special. We had the pork and goose main dish but the sides, jams, andbutters took the cake. Definitely visit their restaurant which was small, quaint, and quiet - perfect during a time whereintimacy matters and safety is priority. Read more

Wonderful experience and atmosphere, delicious food, thoughtful owner & server. This place checked off all the boxes! I love the... cozy ?grandma?s house? style of the interior decor. Large back windows opened up to a lovely garden in the backyard. I wouldrecommend calling ahead / making reservations as the dining area is a little small, but we were lucky and were able to be seatedimmediately on a Friday night. We ordered the snapper soup, frog, bread, striped bass, and finished with dumplings for dessert.Everything came out beautifully plated and tasted incredible. Also it?s BYOB! Will definitely be back soon. Thank you for agreat night out! Read more
