Unfortunately, our experience was less than what we expected. It's been a while since we came here to eat. I ordered the scallop... and risotto entree and I was given a plate full of rice and overcooked Scallops. It would have been nice of they let us knowthat they were replacing the risotto with rice for whatever reason. Then I could have ordered something else. We have been taking my mother in law to Gallo's for several years for her birthday. Unfortunately this will be the last time.... The service and atmosphere has declined and the food was mediocre at best. When people that have ordered the same dish everytime they come say that they have had better, that is a clue that the owners and managers no longer care about quality. Inaddition to that, the service was horrible. Three of us ordered soup that was served without crackers. We asked for them butnever received them. The waitress also could not explain what the special of the was and our appetizerscame out cold. She alsohad to be tracked down to ask for the check. When leaving there where at least four employees sitting on the bench at the frontdoor. This just screams lack of training and professionalism. I was disappointed in Gallo's Seafood! No masks required which I didn't have a problem with that. The seating was available... quickly. The waitress was running herself thin. When she came to the table she was pleasant at all. We ordered our drinks, thebread was cold and the butter hard. I asked the waitress if she could heat it us and put it in the microwave, which I got somepushback as I was taking the butter out of the tinfoil and placing it on a saucer. The appetizers and main meals were ok butnothing to brag about. The lemonade was dish water and when asked what products were available and annoying sigh came out beforethe list of sodas, the Ceasar salad was soggy, the seafood was cooked very hard and the price was outrageous. I haven't been here in many years and it still is a great option for dining in Philadelphia! The restaurant was clean as well... was the bathroom. The waitress was busy (a good thing), friendly and attentive. Our drinks were never empty, nor were ourbellys. Each of our meals were delicious; Grilled Fish Tacos, Cheeseburgers, Crab Cake Platter and Cod. We ended the meals withsome fabulous rice pudding! Read more
I haven't been here in years and thought I wanted quality seafood and service ,but needless to say I was wrong! The food was... terrible seared scallops and risotto as well as the salmon was horrible we had to force ourselves to eat this mess! We had a wonderful time here at Gallos. Our hostess n server Kelsey was very personable patient professional and efficient. The... drinks are reasonably priced and the food absolutely delicious. This was a memorial luncheon so the 2 choices were crab cakeswhich were the best I ever had (67) I am, all meat with just enough filling to hold it together to cook. Ordered the seafood dinner platter "broiled" and a seafood salad. The restaurant seemed steady, not too busy, but again the... service seemed lacking. The broiled seafood platter was served slightly warm and cold...Once we able to find our server, weasked her why it was cold. She immediately took it back to the kitchen and returned 8 minutes later with a now hot platter ...did they microwave it? This rating isn?t really for my food, but for my waiter tonight named Ed. This was our first time here celebrating a birthday... and he was exceptional with his service. He was very nice and pleasant. Food and drinks came out In great timing. Unfortunately,I had an issue with my food, and he did was he could to help resolve it. Thank you Ed! Read more
