Won't honor their own coupon. Visited South Philly Hook and Reel last weekend. The food and service were exceptional, just like... my first visit a month ago. After the dine-in, Joshua (our host) put our bill on our table. I showed him your 10% discountcoupon and asked him to include the coupon discount on the total. But he said he could not honor the coupon because we orderedthe combo item. I re-read the coupon, and nothing on the coupon/postcard saying the coupon is not applicable for combo, drink,or party. I know I cannot ask discount using my previous check/bill because the discount is not applicable for combo, drink, orparty. But I cannot find those words on the coupon. Please see the the picture. Since we were happy with the food and hisservices, I won't create a dispute for just an $8 discount. And I still gave him 20% tips and just took his word for it. I was just diagnosed with breast cancer and have been in the house ever since. My husband sent me to this place with his cousin... to get me out of the house and cheer me up. I usually don?t complain when I go places. I make the best of it. But I felt like Iwas at the club! I literally asked my waiter if she could change the music!! She said she couldn?t. I feel like if she reallywanted to, she could have. Next, I overheard the manager(or whoever he was) asking tables how everything was going. But he nevercame to our table, no one did. I?m used to managers and servers interacting with their paying customers. My waitress was verynice and she deserved the tip I gave her. The food was great! I haven?t been able to eat without getting sick, and since I wasable to enjoy EVERYTHING, I gave this place 3 stars. Please make this place a more comfortable eating environment. It?s not aclub! Again, this is one of those difficult reviews. I feel like four stars is too low but five stars is a little too much. I would... love to have given it a four and a half star. As far as the food is concerned, it was good and full flavor and definitelydeserves five star. My only reasoning for four is the quantity of food for the price. When I hear Cajun I think potatoes, corn,sausage, shrimp, crab all in one but every almost every item was an add-on. Food was good. The Spaghetti/ shrimp & mussels were really good...the sauce was typical from the jar. Was good portion but need... more sauce. Chicken basket was tasty & fried well with Cajun fries. Shrimp basket was my favorite with nice sized shrimp friedperfect with Cajun fries. Read more
