TLDR: If you\'re vegan and your omnivorous friends want to go, give it a try. But don\'t make this a destination just for the... vegan birria.\n\nI had the vegan birria, and it was tasty! But it wasn\'t anything I would seek out again or rave to my friendsabout. For a bean taco, it was good. But for vegan birria, something like jackfruit or shredded mushrooms would have had a moreexciting texture. I appreciate that it wasn\'t fake meat, but it could have been better and still been made from wholefoods.\n\nMy boyfriend really liked the beef birria and the jalapeño poppers.\n\nThe atmosphere was fun. It\'s a shame more people can\'t (a) learn to read, or (b) tip a minimum of 20% to the people taking care of you. Anyway! ... We\'ve now had the vegan & beef birria tacos, both were amazing and the portions were very generous. Seitan wings are reallywell made, tasty, and generously portioned. Fries were a little too salty but for $5, the portion was, again, huge so I can\'treally complain. Everything really hit the spot and I\'ve definitely paid more for less satisfying food at other places, so Ilook forward to going back soon! Read more

Been wanting to try everything here since the pop-up at Underground Arts during COVID times. Did not disappoint one bit! I... recommend the Vegan Birria tacos. Three tacos, but those suckers are packed and the flavor is on point. You\'re definitelygetting your money\'s worth. Read more

Some of the best Mexican fusion. Food and decor is delectable. Service not so great, especially with a mandatory 20% tip on... prices that match the high quality food. There is a feeling that the wait staff is going out of there way to attempt perfunctoryservice 3 days a week. Read more

When I sat back down at our table after ordering, I said to my friend who had insisted we get tacos at Juana Tamale that for... this price, these better be the best damn tacos I\'ve ever eaten in my life. I genuinely was not disappointed. These tacos wereworth every penny. I wanted to try the tamales but the meat tamales that day were hotdog, so I decided to wait and try themanother time.\n\nThese tacos will give you wicked heartburn, but even while laying in bed suffering through it at 1 am you willstill decide it\'s worth making the heartburn worse to get up and finish the leftover taco in the fridge. 10/10. EDIT: Yes I seem to be oblivious and did not know about the extra charges but I am not the only one for sure. Why... dont you do your customers a favor and eliminate any potential for confusion? Im fine if you want to add a tip as it isdeserved but am angry about the false advertising practices. You are not charging $21 for raw ingredients. The menu price needsto include all costs, utilities rent and labor needed. So put $25, $30, $100 or whatever you feel like charging on your bigfancy sign and stop with these silly games.\n\nwe were initially not going to leave a review, but feel like feedback needs to beheard since it is being requested.\n\nI always support independent restaurants over chains but experienced some poor conductduring my visit. These people are strait up lying to customers about the prices. I didnt notice until after I paid but the $21tacos rang up to $25 before tax. The person at the counter gave a long explanation to the \"mandatory tip\" and living wages soon which I kinda support.\n\nIf you are going to charge $25 for a product you need to show that on your big fancy board. Anexplanation to extra charges in fine print is not acceptable. the entire menu is purposefully listed with wrong prices. I wascaught off guard and I am sure many others were too.\n\nIt is apparent that the business is using this tactic to advertise adeceptively lower cost. The tacos themselves were fine, but there are many other spots in the city who also serve good tacosthat dont play silly pricing games. Read more

Yo, this place is fantastic. I\'m so full right now about to slip into a food coma while my toddler destroys the house. Way more... food than I expected for 3 tacos. These things are dense on their own and then you dip them into a broth that just brings yourlife into an unstoppable itis.\n\nGoogle says it\'s takeout only but that\'s not true. They\'re open for dine in! We got theramen, an order of birria tacos, an order of vegan birria tacos, and a churro for the little one. She\'s almost 3 and difficultso she didn\'t want to eat it. More for me! Yum!! All of it was fantastic. I\'d go back in a heartbeat to leave with a fullbelly. Some people complaining about the cost and auto 20% gratuity. Worth every penny and then some. Let these workers getpaid. If you can\'t afford it go to taco bell.\n\nAlso, the ramen, fantastic. It\'s a beefy, cheesy, noodly, delicious hot mess.We got lunch but honestly will probably skip dinner we\'re so full... Read more
