I'm really glad the whole island of Jamaica decided to move from the Caribbean to Germantown Philly, because the food tasted and... presented as if it was directly from Jamaica. It was my first time going here, and it will not be my last. I ordered to takeout, but then ended up eating in the front outside area of the restaurant. I got Dumplings, White Rice, BBQ Chicken, and GreenBeans - Medium Size. The amount of food is really good. In fact - it was too much food - in a good way. You definitely getyour $$ worth in proportion to the food size you get. They take cash or credit. You can sit outside and eat - right in frontof the restaurant - you just have to open the little switch latch to the gate - to walk through and sit down. When you're doneeating outside, the trash can is right inside at the front entrance for easy convenience. Owner was really friendly. Helped meorder through the menu since it was my first time. Highly recommend if you are really hungry. Zero disappointment. Read more
I won?t be returning here! After waiting 30 minutes in line to return my food because it was wrong I?m being argued with about... my order when it was 100% incorrect. I ordered 6 piece dark meat chicken and instead I?m given 5 pieces of breast that was cutup into small pieces. they was extremely over cooked and dry. Instead of getting what I ordered I am being argued with and thegirl taking orders was extremely unprofessional (getting smart with me when I questioned why the chicken is cut up into smallpieces) I never been to a restaurant EVER that cuts fried chicken in little pieces. I am well aware of what chicken pieces looklike from working in the food business , I even showed them I opened a piece of the chicken and you can clearly see it is whitemeat. someone else in the store looking at the chicken while I was being argued with said it was white meat ? they really triedto get over with this one. If I could give zero stars I would! I was so surprised & disappointed beings though I used to always get food from here! I... always order jerk chicken & rice & beans, cabbage & yams. Yams were bangin!! & cabbage was good but the jerk chicken was notjerked with no sauce & I also requested extra gravy on the rice & didn't receive any! First time ordering from this place and it was not bad at all!! Especially because they are actually opened on Sundays.... Everything was very tasteful, I?m big on flavors. The only reason why im giving this business a 4 Star rating is, because thechicken tasted like it was made the day before & the mac & cheese could be a little cheesier. Don?t even bother ???? I ordered Jerk chicken wing, rice, beans & cabbage. It tasted so bland. The jerk wings tasted like... nothing but hot food. Only thing that had an taste was the rice and beans. The first picture was the first time I went there the next picture was the second time I went there the first time the food was... seasoned very well the young lady was very nice and pleasant at the window I really enjoyed that experience the second time Iwent the food wasn't really seasoned that much I didn't get as many oxtails as I would have liked and the lady behind thecounter was a little short abrasive maybe she had a bad day I may go back and a couple weeks or so. Just ordered a Curry Goat, Brown Stewed Chicken and oxtail. All of the above was order with rice and peas and Cabbage. I was... very disappointed in the taste of this food. The curry goat taste like dry shredded beef. The brown stewed chicken was ok. Theoxtail was not editable, the taste was disgusting. I will not be going here ever again.
