Food is really good. My gripe is, they have a limit on the number of slices of cake you can buy which is inconvenient-... celebrating a birthday when you can only buy 2 slices! To try to get enough cake for my husband?s birthday (because this happensto be his favorite cake), I went back the day after I purchased two slices and was advised that they do not sell cake on Sundayswhen there is an event going on ???????????. I won?t be quick to return and spend my money here Read more

The Schmitter sandwich is absolutely the best sandwich in Philly. The service, particularly by Ellen is above and beyond and was... outstanding, and the alcoholic drinks top off the wonderful historic Irish bar atmosphere. Read more

A colleague from Philly recommended this restaurant to us during a business trip. When we arrived, I looked at the menu and... tried to find something semi-healthy to order. But, our colleague said you have to get ?The Schmitter?, because that?s what thisplace is known for. Honestly, if I had not been told that, I would have never ever ordered that item, because it didn?t soundappetizing to me. However, I always say, ?when in Rome??, so I decided to go for it. I?m not kidding you when I say it wasdelicious. Totally not my style of food, because it?s dripping with cheese and sauce, fat and carbs, but oh my gosh, it wasfabulous! I only wish I could have tried it on a cold snowy day instead of in the midst of the summer swelter, because it seemslike a perfect comfort style pub food sandwich when coming in from a blustery day. If I ever have to come here in the winter, Idefinitely want to eat here again! Read more

We usually love McNally's- fantastic service, good beer at a reasonable price and tasty food. We went most recently for their... lobster roll special that I saw advertised on Instagram (price was not advertised- I should have known then). The service wasphenomenal (as always) and the food delicious although I did notice a tomato taking up about a third of my lobster roll, whichshould have really been lobster meat instead. I wasn't too bothered by it until I got the bill and I have to say I was blownaway by the price. $35 dollars for a lobster roll, a side of potato chips, potato salad and a small coleslaw when a tomato tookabout a third of the roll is just too steep. I don't usually balk at a check but this one got me to double take. It was my faultfor not asking how much the rolls were from the start but there's no way I thought they would be over $30. Disappointed. Read more

The service here was great. The food was okay. We paid $20 for a cheesesteak that was "subpart." It's just hard for me to... justify paying $20 for an average-taste sandwich like what I had. I also wish they had French fries but that's okay. I canunderstand why. They don't have a fryer on site. Ultimately, the environment and the service was excellent but the food wasaverage at best. I?ve been hearing about the legendary Schmitter for over a year. Tried to go months ago but they were closed on a Tuesday. The... day finally came! If you?re going for the Schmitter (which you should be) order the long roll version. It?s just better. Yesit?s over $18. Yes you may not be able to finish. Topped it off with a nice IPA. Love the old school feel of this place, too. Read more
